Whether you’re in the mood for a demon-haunted family horror story, a one-man war machine in the Arctic, a gunsmoke revenge ride, or a summer-camp slasher, this week’s lineup spans a few gnarly corners of genre filmmaking. The window is Monday, August 25 through Sunday, August 31, 2025, with one title arriving on Tuesday and three more landing together on Friday.

Premiering on Hulu on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, ‘Little Bites’ follows Mindy Vogel, a mother who sends her daughter Alice to live with her grandmother in a desperate attempt to break a demonic torment that has attached itself to the child. Krsy Fox plays Mindy, Elizabeth Phoenix Caro plays Alice Vogel, and the supporting cast includes Barbara Crampton as Sonya Whitfield and Bonnie Aarons as the grandmother, with Heather Langenkamp and Chaz Bono in featured roles.

The film is written and directed by Spider One, produced by Spider One and Krsy Fox, with music by Roy Mayorga and cinematography by Andy Patch. It premiered at Fantastic Fest in 2024, later released by RLJE Films before a streaming run on Shudder, and it runs 106 minutes; the project also counts Cher among its executive producers.

Arriving on Hulu on Friday, August 29, 2025, ‘Sisu’ is set in 1944 during the Lapland War and centers on Aatami Korpi, a former commando turned gold prospector who crosses paths with a retreating Waffen-SS platoon led by an officer intent on stealing his claim. Jorma Tommila stars as Aatami Korpi and Aksel Hennie plays the pursuing officer Bruno Helldorf, with Jack Doolan and Mimosa Willamo in key roles.

Written and directed by Jalmari Helander, ‘Sisu’ premiered in TIFF’s Midnight Madness in 2022 before rolling out in Finland in January 2023 and the United States in April 2023. The film runs 91 minutes, features cinematography by Kjell Lagerroos and a score by Juri Seppä and Tuomas Wäinölä, and it earned genre accolades including wins at Sitges as well as a Saturn Award for Best International Film.

Streaming on Hulu on Friday, August 29, 2025, ‘Trail of Vengeance’ takes place in 1875 and follows Katherine Atherton, a widow whose husband is murdered at the behest of a corrupt colonel; she unexpectedly allies with a former Pinkerton agent to hunt the killers. Rumer Willis stars as Katherine Atherton, Jeff Fahey portrays Colonel Davis, Gbenga Akinnagbe plays John Scobell, and Jeremy Sumpter appears as Caleb Atherton, with additional turns by Eric Nelsen, Graham Greene, and James Landry Hébert.

The Western is directed and produced by Johnny Remo from a screenplay by Remo and Daniel Backman, with SkipStone Pictures producing and Shout! Studios handling distribution. It opened in select theaters and on VOD on May 23, 2025, ahead of its streaming debut, and its story draws on period Pinkerton operations and post–Civil War frontier politics.

Also landing on Hulu on Friday, August 29, 2025, ‘Hell of a Summer’ tracks a group of counselors who arrive at camp a day early and fall prey to a masked killer before the season even begins. The ensemble includes Fred Hechinger as Jason Hochberg, Abby Quinn as Claire, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Mike, Billy Bryk as Bobby, Finn Wolfhard as Chris, Pardis Saremi as Demi, Rosebud Baker as Kathy, and Adam Pally as John.

The film is written and directed by Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2023, before U.S. theatrical release on April 4, 2025, via Neon. It runs 85 minutes, with cinematography by Kristofer Bonnell, editing by Christine Armstrong, and an original score by Jay McCarrol; producers include Michael Costigan, Jason Bateman, Finn Wolfhard, Billy Bryk, Jay Van Hoy, and Fred Hechinger.
