Pixar is giving fans plenty to be excited about. During Disney’s Destination D23 event, the studio revealed updates on several upcoming projects, including Hoppers, Toy Story 5, and Gatto.

Pixar also shared its release slate for the next few years, teasing a mix of new stories and sequels to beloved favorites.

The first film on the schedule is Hoppers, set to hit theaters on March 6, 2026. The movie is written and directed by Daniel Chong, best known as the creator of We Bare Bears. It follows Mabel, a 19-year-old animal lover whose mind is transferred into a robotic beaver so she can communicate with animals.

Piper Curda voices Mabel, while Bobby Moynihan and Jon Hamm lend their voices to King George, a beaver monarch, and Mayor Jerry, a greedy mayor. Chong began working on the film in 2020, and it was officially announced as Hoppers in August 2024.

Next up is Toy Story 5, scheduled for June 19, 2026. Andrew Stanton is directing and writing, with Jessica Choi producing.

The film will bring back Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Joan Cusack as Jessie, and Tony Hale as Forky, while Anna Faris, Ernie Hudson, and Conan O’Brien join the cast. Tim Allen previously expressed his excitement for the project, saying, “I can tell you that it’s a lot about Jessie. Tom [Hanks] and I do — Woody and I — do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyear. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.”

The fifth installment will mark the first main Toy Story film without co-creator John Lasseter, who left Pixar in 2018.

Pixar’s next original film, Gatto, will release on June 18, 2027. The story follows Nero, a character indebted to a feline mob boss, who must forge an unlikely friendship to find his purpose. Enrico Casarosa is directing, and the film was first announced at the Annecy Animation Festival in 2025.

Cast details remain mostly under wraps, though Ismail Elsene is confirmed as the voice of Lauren.

Fans of superheroes won’t be left out. Incredibles 3 is officially in development. Brad Bird, director of the first two films, will return as writer and executive producer, while Peter Sohn will handle directing duties.

Bird has said in the past, “There were a lot of ideas that we had on this film that could be [used]… whether it’s another Incredibles film, or something else.” Samuel L. Jackson and Sophia Bush have both shown interest in returning to their roles, with Bush hoping for a team-up with Violet.

Finally, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Coco 2 is in development. Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina will return as director and co-director, with Mark Nielsen producing. While a release date has not yet been set, the project is moving forward.

Pixar’s upcoming slate promises a mix of original films and sequels, giving audiences new stories while continuing some of their favorite franchises.
