It’s a tight little mix: a big-hearted animated threequel, a Spanish father-son comedy tied to a famous painting, an action-comedy from the 87North team, and a U.K. short that tackles migration and morality.

Set in the world of ‘The Boys’, ‘Gen V’ follows a new class of young supes at Godolkin University, a Vought-run college where students train to become the next generation of branded heroes. The story centers on Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), whose blood-manipulation powers make her a fast-rising contender, alongside Andre Anderson (Chance Perdomo), Jordan Li (London Thor and Derek Luh), Emma Meyer a.k.a. Little Cricket (Lizze Broadway), and Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips); early events also involve campus golden boy Luke “Golden Boy” Riordan (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and the discovery of a disturbing research program tied to the school. It’s on this week’s schedule for Wednesday, September 17.

Developed by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke and based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic ‘The Boys’, the series is overseen in its first season by showrunner Michele Fazekas. ‘Gen V’ is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film; recurring and guest roles include Shelley Conn as Dean Indira Shetty, Clancy Brown as Professor Richard “Brink” Brinkerhoff, Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, and appearances from characters and personnel linked to ‘The Boys’, connecting storylines and organizations across both series.

Branch and Poppy are officially a couple, and their road trip kicks off when Branch’s long-lost boy-band BroZone needs to reunite to save his brother Floyd from talent-stealing pop siblings Velvet and Veneer. The voice cast features Anna Kendrick as Poppy and Justin Timberlake as Branch, with Eric André (John Dory), Daveed Diggs (Spruce), Kid Cudi (Clay), Troye Sivan (Floyd), Camila Cabello (Viva), Amy Schumer (Velvet), and Andrew Rannells (Veneer); the film’s story nods to boy-band history, complete with an NSYNC tie-in. It’s part of this week’s lineup on Friday, September 19.

Behind the scenes, ‘Trolls Band Together’ is directed by Walt Dohrn, co-directed by Tim Heitz, and written by Elizabeth Tippet. Gina Shay produces for DreamWorks Animation, with Nick Fletcher editing and Theodore Shapiro on the score—elements that lock the film into the colorful, music-driven style the series is known for.

This Spanish comedy follows Fermín, a painter who enters a contest to reinterpret Hieronymus Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights, and the uneasy creative-family dynamics that spark with his son Pablo. The cast includes Fernando Colomo as Fermín and Pablo Colomo as Pablo, alongside Carmen Machi (Pepa), Antonio Resines (Antonio), Brays Efe, María Hervás, Luis Bermejo, Cumelén Sanz, and artist Javier de Juan appearing as himself. It’s on this week’s slate for Friday, September 19.

‘Las delicias del jardín’ is directed by Fernando Colomo from a screenplay by Fernando Colomo and Pablo Colomo, with cinematography by José Luis Alcaine and music by Fernando Furones. Produced by Comba Films and Telespan 2000 with participation from Prime Video, the film’s Spanish distribution is handled by Vértice 360, and it screens in the San Sebastián International Film Festival’s “Made in Spain” section.

This action-comedy centers on Marvin Gable, a former hitman turned suburban realtor whose past roars back when his ex-partner Rose resurfaces and a string of assassins—plus a vengeful brother—close in. Ke Huy Quan leads as Marvin, with Ariana DeBose as Rose; the ensemble also features Daniel Wu, Mustafa Shakir, Lio Tipton, Cam Gigandet, Marshawn Lynch, and Sean Astin. It’s included in this lineup for Friday, September 19.

Directed by Jonathan Eusebio in his feature debut, ‘Love Hurts’ is written by Matthew Murray, Josh Stoddard, and Luke Passmore, produced by Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, and Guy Danella for 87North. Set on England’s coast, this short drama follows a teenager who witnesses her father’s cruel treatment of a newly arrived migrant, pushing her to confront loyalty, empathy, and the consequences of fear. Cast highlights include Arthur Darvill as Toby and Kiera Thompson as Iris, with Nojan Khazai (Reza) and Arnika Hashemi Nasab (Ari). It’s slated in this week’s lineup for Friday, September 19.

Written and directed by Abolfazl Talooni, the film runs approximately 15 minutes and features cinematography by Ciara Rigney and editing by Tanya Singh; producers include Daria Dikalo and Abolfazl Talooni.
