George Clooney and Adam Sandler Team Up in Exciting New Trailer for ‘Jay Kelly’
A new trailer has been released for Jay Kelly, the upcoming comedy-drama directed by Noah Baumbach.
The film stars George Clooney as Jay Kelly, a famous actor, and Adam Sandler as his manager, Ron. The story follows their journey across Europe, where they reflect on their careers, personal choices, and the legacies they hope to leave behind.
The movie features a large ensemble cast, including Laura Dern as Jay’s publicist Liz, Billy Crudup as Timothy, Jay’s acting friend who never had a big break, Riley Keough as Jay’s eldest daughter Jessica, Jim Broadbent as the late director Peter Schneider, and Greta Gerwig as Ron’s wife Lois. Other cast members include Patrick Wilson, Isla Fisher, Alba Rohrwacher, Emily Mortimer, and Stacy Keach, among others.

Jay Kelly had its world premiere on August 28, at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Golden Lion. The film is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on November 14, and will be available globally on Netflix starting December 5. It is also set to screen at the 2025 New York Film Festival.
The project was first announced in December 2023, with Clooney and Sandler attached to star under Baumbach’s direction.
Baumbach co-wrote the script with Emily Mortimer, while Amy Pascal and David Heyman produced the film through Pascal Pictures and Heyday Films. Principal photography began in March 2024 in New York City, London, and Tuscany.
Cinematographer Linus Sandgren shot the film on 35mm, marking his first collaboration with Baumbach, while Valerio Bonelli handled editing. By July, Nicholas Britell had been brought on to compose the score.
The film has already received positive early reviews. Rotten Tomatoes reports that 81% of 43 critics’ reviews were favorable, while Metacritic gave it a score of 65 out of 100, indicating generally favorable reception.
The newly released trailer highlights both the humor and emotional depth of the story. It shows Clooney and Sandler navigating the highs and lows of their professional and personal lives, with scenic European backdrops and moments that hint at reflection, friendship, and reconciliation.
