Netflix has reportedly lost about $20 billion in value after a wave of users began canceling their subscriptions. The backlash was reportedly sparked by Elon Musk, who has called for a boycott of the streaming service.

Musk expressed his displeasure with Netflix’s content on X, highlighting what he sees as the platform promoting a “woke agenda” in shows aimed at young audiences. His posts have gained attention among his followers, leading to cancellations and widespread discussion online.

The controversy began when Musk reacted to the animated show Dead End: Paranormal Park, which features a transgender character. Musk commented, “This is not ok,” noting his concern about the content being targeted at children.

Other shows, such as The Baby-Sitters Club, have also drawn criticism. In one scene, a character calls out a nurse for misgendering a child, which some conservatives, including Musk, found inappropriate for younger viewers.

Political commentator Gunther Eagleman supported Musk’s position, urging his followers on X to “Cancel Netflix,” a post that Musk subsequently shared.

In addition to Musk’s criticism, some viewers pointed to controversial statements from content creators, such as Hamish Steele, who made remarks about political figures that were widely condemned.

The backlash has highlighted the growing tension between Netflix and conservative viewers over its programming choices, with Musk’s comments acting as a catalyst for the recent drop in subscribers and company value.
