Jensen Ackles Reveals ‘The Boys’ Season 5 Scene That Shocked Him Enough to Walk Out
At Creation Entertainment’s “The Road So Far, The Road Ahead” event in Philadelphia, fans got a special look into the upcoming fifth and final season of The Boys. Misha Collins shared details about his reunion with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, hinting that the series is pulling out all the stops for its last season.
Jensen Ackles revealed a moment from filming that left him so surprised he had to step away briefly. “I walk into the scene. Soldier Boy. And I turn the corner and I go, ‘Oh my god.’ That wasn’t my line,” Ackles said to laughter from the audience.
“And I was supposed to stay there. But I hadn’t seen what was going on. We’d blocked it out. We rehearsed it. Things changed when the camera was rolling, and I hadn’t seen it. And I walked in and it was, ‘Dear God,’ and I just walked back out. And they were like, ‘Uh, cut?’ And I was like, ‘I’m sorry. I wasn’t prepared for that [laughter]. And I don’t think anybody else will be either.’”

Collins also teased that the episode includes other “surprise guests” and described how the director, Philip Sgriccia, had the trio refilm the scene to make sure it captured the moment perfectly. The video announcing their reunion alone pulled in millions of views, showing how excited fans are for this season.

The fifth season of The Boys, developed by Eric Kripke, is set to be the show’s final chapter. The cast returns in full, including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Jensen Ackles, with Daveed Diggs joining the lineup.
