Disney+ has revealed a new trailer for the second season of Percy Jackson, giving fans a peek at the new adventures awaiting the young demigod. The upcoming season, which adapts the second book in Rick Riordan’s series, The Sea of Monsters, is set to premiere on December 10.

The story picks up a year after the events of the first season. Percy returns to Camp Half-Blood, only to find the camp under threat from the forces of Kronos. His friend Grover has disappeared, and Percy must brave the dangerous Sea of Monsters to retrieve the Golden Fleece and protect his friends.

The series was renewed for a second season in February 2024, and Disney+ confirmed a third season in March, which will follow The Titan’s Curse. Albert Kim joined the production team as an executive producer for season two in April 2024. Writing for season two began in March 2023, while work on season three started by late February of this year.

Filming took place in Vancouver, starting on August 1, 2024, and concluded on January 31. The show promises even more adventure and new challenges for Percy and his friends. It will also explore characters like Chiron in greater depth, including his disability.

This new season looks set to expand the Percy Jackson universe while staying true to the excitement and heart fans loved in the first season. With the trailer giving a glimpse of dangerous quests and thrilling encounters, anticipation is high for December 10.
