New photos from Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey have been released through Empire Magazine, giving fans another early look at the director’s ambitious mythological epic.

The new images highlight several key characters and hint at the scale of the project, which is set to arrive in theaters in 2026.

One of the photos shows Anne Hathaway as Penelope, the wife of Odysseus. Behind her is Mia Goth, who plays Melantho. This marks Hathaway’s third time working with Nolan, following The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar. She also has a packed year ahead, with several major films scheduled for release.

Another still features Tom Holland suited up as Telemachus, the son of Odysseus. Holland joins a massive ensemble cast, which includes stars such as Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie, Samantha Morton, and Jon Bernthal. Matt Damon leads the film as Odysseus, whose long journey home after the Trojan War serves as the main storyline.

Rumors have been circulating about when audiences will get their first footage. Some reports claim that a special preview may play before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. It may even take the form of a short prologue.

While nothing has been confirmed, this would not be new for Nolan, who has previously released similar early previews for several of his past films.

The Odyssey is scheduled for July 17, 2026. The film reportedly has a budget of around $250 million and was shot with new IMAX camera technology by cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, a longtime Nolan collaborator. Interest has been so high that tickets for the 70mm IMAX run, released early in the summer, sold out across many locations.
