‘Wonder Man’ Teaser Shows Trevor Slattery Teaching “The Slattery Method” in MCU-Style Ad For Method Acting
Marvel fans are gearing up for a fresh take on the MCU with the upcoming Wonder Man series, set to premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, known for his roles in HBO’s Watchmen and the Aquaman franchise, stars as Simon Williams, a character navigating the challenges of landing a role in a rebooted fictional superhero franchise.
To build excitement, Marvel and Disney+ have released a fun in-universe promo for “The Slattery Method,” an acting class run by the ever-unreliable Trevor Slattery, played by Sir Ben Kingsley.
The teaser shows fans what to expect from Slattery’s method acting, which has also been promoted on social media and across several cities. Fans can text “ACT” to 805-8-TREVOR to join Slattery’s mailing list and receive a sneak peek of the class.

Abdul-Mateen shared some insight into the series with Empire, explaining that Wonder Man is not your typical Marvel show. “We’re doing something that, tonally, feels much different than really any other Marvel show, or any other films,” he said. “We’re doing something that’s fresh, and a bit tongue-in-cheek, a bit self-aware.”
The show follows Simon Williams as he works hard to secure a role in the rebooted Wonder Man films, while also exploring his friendship with the unpredictable Trevor Slattery. “The show is self-aware, without looking directly into the camera. There’ll be commentary about superhero fatigue and things like that, but to me, it’s just dressing. That’s not really the aim of the show. The focus of the show is about an actor’s journey. It’s about a journey of friendship,” Abdul-Mateen added.
Fans can expect a series that mixes humor and self-awareness with genuine character development. The series promises to explore both the challenges of being a modern superhero and the personal growth of its characters, all while delivering the fun and twists fans love from the MCU.
