You Won’t Believe How Sadie Sink Found Out She Got Her ‘Spider-Man’ Role
Sadie Sink has revealed a surprising way she learned she was cast in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Stranger Things star says she first heard about the role through online rumors.
“Before I got cast … there was speculation online that said, ‘Sadie Sink is gonna be in the new Spider-Man.’ I was like, ‘I am?’ Sure enough, two days later [I was offered the role],” Sink told Jimmy Fallon.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the latest installment in the MCU and marks the 38th film in the franchise. It will also be the fourth Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton with a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film brings back familiar faces including Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon. Sink joins the cast in a major role, alongside Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III.
The movie’s development began years ago, with Sony and Marvel planning a fourth Spider-Man film alongside Spider-Man: No Way Home. Producer Amy Pascal revealed that the project would launch a new trilogy centered on Holland’s Spider-Man. Filming officially started in August, with locations in Glasgow, Scotland, and various sites across England, including Pinewood Studios. Production wrapped in December 2025.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters in the United States on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
Early reports suggested that Zendaya’s involvement had not yet been finalized, but Deadline Hollywood confirmed she would return. Rumors also swirled about Sink potentially portraying the X-Men character Jean Grey before her casting was officially announced in March 2025.
