X-Men Return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser – Xavier Meets Magneto and Cyclops Unleashes Massive Eye Beam
The X-Men are officially returning to live-action screens. A new teaser for Avengers: Doomsday has been released online, following its debut in front of screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Fans are excited to see Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden reprising their roles as Professor Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Cyclops.
The trio first rose to fame in Fox’s early 2000s X-Men trilogy, alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who has since appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Deadpool & Wolverine.
While Stewart briefly returned in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as an alternate-dimension Xavier, this is the first time these original X-Men characters will share the screen with the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and other Marvel heroes.
The teaser opens with Xavier’s abandoned School for Gifted Youngers. Magneto delivers a chilling line: “Death comes for us all. It’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t ‘are you prepared to die?’ The question is ‘who would you be when you close your eyes?’” The scene then shows Xavier’s wheelchair and a floating chess piece, calling back to X-Men: The Last Stand, before the two old rivals embrace.

The teaser also features a powerful moment from Cyclops, played by James Marsden, who unleashes a massive red energy beam from his visor. This hints at Cyclops taking a central role in the upcoming adventure.
In addition to Stewart, McKellen, and Marsden, the film will include Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. They will join forces, and clash, with a star-studded Avengers lineup, including Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Simu Liu, and more.
The crossover also brings in Fantastic Four actors Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, along with the Thunderbolts team featuring Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and others.
Fans can watch the teaser online and get a first glimpse of this massive Marvel team-up.
This teaser has already raised excitement across social media. Seeing the original X-Men back alongside the Avengers is a dream come true for longtime fans. The mix of nostalgia, epic action, and new dynamics makes Avengers: Doomsday one of the most anticipated Marvel films of 2026.
