Jenny McCarthy Shows Off Her Dramatic Weight Loss Transformation
Jenny McCarthy is finally feeling like herself again after surviving a health nightmare that lasted over a year. The television star recently opened up about a series of scary mouth infections that were so bad, they actually changed the way she looks. After going through nine different surgeries on her mouth in 2025, she is just happy to be able to eat real food again.
The whole situation started because of a ceramic dental implant that did not work out. Things got much worse when her teeth and other implants started to fall out, which led to her body fighting a massive battle. I had one infection that turned into another and another, and then I had these growths show up on my eyeballs, she told PEOPLE during a recent interview.
Doctors eventually had to get very serious and dig into her jawbone to find the source of the trouble. They discovered a deep bone infection that had been causing her intense pain and swelling for a long time. I’ve been on antibiotics for a year, and have had to eat soft foods only, McCarthy explained while talking about how hard it was to heal.
Because she could only eat very soft things and was often in too much pain to have a full meal, she lost a lot of weight. Fans noticed her very slim figure in a holiday card she posted with her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, in late 2025. She joked that people might actually feel a little bad for her since her trim look was really just caused by having a mouth full of stitches.
Now that the worst seems to be over, she is looking forward to making up for lost time. She was especially excited to eat more. I think I’m past the storm, she said happily. I’m about to chow down!
Even with all her health struggles, Jenny has remained very busy in the entertainment world. She is currently starring as a judge on the 14th season of The Masked Singer, which premiered on Fox on January 7. She is back on the panel alongside her usual co-stars Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke, while Rita Ora continues to fill in as well.
Jenny also made headlines this January for being very honest about her past job on The View. She told a podcast that she would never go back to the show, even for a reunion, because it was such a difficult time for her. She seems much happier these days focusing on her family and her health.
