Margot Robbie has once again captivated the fashion world as she kicks off the promotional tour for her latest cinematic endeavor. While promoting the upcoming adaptation of “Wuthering Heights,” the 35-year-old actress stepped out in a striking gothic ensemble by Roberto Cavalli that signaled a major departure from her previous styles.

The centerpiece of the conversation, however, was her choice of footwear: a pair of stilettos so high they immediately reminded fans of the iconic arched feet from her 2023 blockbuster, “Barbie.”

Her longtime collaborator and stylist, Andrew Mukamal, the mastermind behind the global “Barbiecore” phenomenon, shared the look on social media, showcasing a dramatic shift toward a darker aesthetic.

This new era for Robbie is a stark contrast to the candy-pink hyper-femininity that dominated her wardrobe three years ago. The focus of the internet’s fascination was a pair of Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps, crafted from sleek patent leather with a staggering 12-centimeter heel and the brand’s legendary red soles.

Fans were quick to express their awe and a bit of sympathetic discomfort at the sight of the nearly five-inch stilettos. Jesus, my feet hurt just looking at this, one user commented, while another wrote, This is everything! Sending prayers for her feet in those heels! Some even playfully wondered if these were the infamous “unwearable” models from past high-fashion collections.

To complement the sky-high shoes, Robbie wore a daring little black dress that hugged her silhouette before flaring into a fit-and-flare skirt. The most theatrical elements were the dramatic bell-shaped sleeves that added a touch of Victorian-inspired gothic chic to the modern cut. She rounded out the look with a velvet choker featuring a ruby and gold pendant, also from Roberto Cavalli, and opted for a half-up hairstyle with loose waves and natural-looking makeup.

In the film “Wuthering Heights,” which is set to hit theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day, Robbie takes on the legendary role of Catherine Earnshaw. She stars opposite Jacob Elordi, who portrays the brooding Heathcliff in this fresh, modernized take on Emily Brontë’s 1847 tragedy. The project has already generated massive buzz, particularly after Robbie mentioned in interviews that her own friends threw her a “Victorian-s****y” themed bachelorette party to celebrate the movie’s upcoming release.

Aside from her turn as Catherine, Robbie has been incredibly productive behind the scenes with her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. She produced the hit thriller “Saltburn” and is currently developing a highly anticipated live-action “The Sims” movie, as well as a “Monopoly” film.

She also recently made headlines for her playful collaboration with Colin Farrell and was featured as the cover star for the January 2026 issue of British Vogue, where she discussed the challenges of balancing motherhood with her high-profile career.

As the press tour continues, fans are eager to see if Robbie will continue this “method dressing” trend, leaning into the moody and romantic spirit of the moors. The film promises a steamy and “unhinged” interpretation of the classic story, which has already amassed tens of millions of views on its teaser trailers.

Do you think Margot Robbie’s new gothic press tour style is a better fit for her than the famous Barbie aesthetic, or do you miss the bright pink outfits? Share your thoughts in the comments.
