Joe Rogan recently shared a wild story on his podcast about an unexpected and unwanted connection to Jeffrey Epstein. Sitting down with actress Cheryl Hines, Rogan revealed that he was once asked to meet the notorious financier, but his reaction was immediate and blunt.

The email came in 2017 from theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss, who had been a guest on Rogan’s podcast before. Krauss suggested an introduction after Epstein reportedly found Rogan funny. Rogan didn’t hesitate with his reply.

“B***, are you high?” Rogan said he responded, recalling the moment to Hines. “Like what the f*** are you talking about?” He was stunned that anyone would even suggest it, especially given Epstein’s widely known 2008 conviction.

This story comes just after the final major release of the Epstein Files in late January. The release, part of the Epstein Files Transparency Act signed by President Trump in 2025, included over three million pages of documents, 180,000 images, and thousands of videos.

While the files have drawn massive public attention, many sections are still heavily redacted. Officials say this is to protect victims, but critics argue it hides details about powerful figures. It was in these newly released documents that researchers found the 2017 email where Epstein showed interest in meeting Rogan.

Rogan himself continues to dominate the podcast scene and stand-up comedy world. His latest special, Burn the Boats, is performing well on Netflix.

The podcaster has not shied away from controversy, often criticizing the government’s handling of the Epstein investigation. He called the redactions in the latest file release a “line in the sand for public trust.” Despite the debates, his audience keeps growing, following him as he tackles high-profile and often controversial topics.
