Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe are stepping into a new chapter of their careers, and according to British Vogue, it already feels big. The two actors recently met up in London for a British Vogue cover shoot, but the mood was not stiff or overly polished. It felt relaxed. Almost like a reunion. They are about to share the stage in Robert Icke’s new version of Romeo and Juliet in London’s West End, and that shared excitement was clear from the start.

In the interview with British Vogue, Sink spoke openly about what this role means to her. After years on screen, she says the stage feels natural. It was as if a spark was lit, she told Vogue, describing her first long meeting with director Robert Icke. That conversation lasted four hours and completely changed how she sees Juliet. For Sink, who says she has always been a Broadway kid at heart, performing in the West End has been a long-time dream. Now she finally gets to do it.

Jupe is also entering new territory. This production marks his official stage debut. He has built his career in film and television, often playing intense roles. Live theatre is different. It demands focus in real time. There are no retakes. Speaking to British Vogue, he admitted the project felt too important to refuse. The combination of Romeo, Rob and Sadie is an opportunity you simply cannot turn down, he said with a grin.

Their partnership is still fresh. Sink remembered how fast everything happened. We did a chemistry read together and that was, what, like an hour? she said, laughing about how quickly they were thrown together. Jupe added that their second meeting was already in front of cameras. We had to do a full-on photoshoot for it, he explained. They had to sell a tragic love story before fully knowing each other.

The production itself sounds bold. British Vogue reports that Robert Icke’s version of Romeo and Juliet includes a ticking digital clock and “Sliding Doors” moments that explore different outcomes for the famous lovers. It is not a soft, traditional take. It is modern and direct.

Both actors are also in the middle of major career changes. Sink has been linked to a possible role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is also set to executive produce and star in the film version of John Proctor Is the Villain, a project she previously performed on Broadway. On top of that, she will appear in the rock opera O’Dessa and the thriller Cold Storage.

Jupe’s schedule is just as full. He recently played Hamlet in the film Hamnet alongside Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley. He is also set to appear in The Death of Robin Hood with Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer, and has starred in the second season of The Night Manager.

Their play will run for 12 weeks at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London, from March 16 to June 6, 2026. It is a limited run, which adds even more pressure. For both actors, this is not just another job. It feels like a turning point.
