Jacob Elordi Opens up About Steamy Scenes With Margot Robbie

Jacob Elordi has been opening up about the process of filming intimate moments with his co-star Margot Robbie for their new cinematic adaptation of Wuthering Heights. In a recent conversation with The Sun, the 28-year-old actor discussed the natural spark between him and Robbie, who is 35 and plays his primary love interest in the film.

While the chemistry on screen has been described as intense, Elordi was quick to point out the mechanical reality of filming such sequences. The actor, who has recently stepped into several high-profile roles, noted that these moments are actually no different from choreographing a fight scene or a dance sequence.

He emphasized that the process is far more clinical than it appears to the audience. According to Elordi, the work is super-technical, requiring precise movements to ensure the actors remain within the specific lighting and camera angles required for the shot.

Specifically describing a moment where his character is positioned on top of Robbie’s, Elordi explained that every gesture had to be carefully planned. He noted that because of the way the scene was lit, the actors had very little physical space to move around.

He shared that whatever the actors do in those moments has to fit in the frame and work with the lighting to achieve the desired effect for the director. This new version of the Emily Brontë classic was directed by Emerald Fennell and produced on a significant budget of 80 million USD.

Since its theatrical debut on February 13, the film has earned roughly $126 million at the global box office. While the adaptation has garnered a variety of opinions from critics, the performances of the lead duo have remained a major talking point.

The film boasts an impressive supporting cast beyond its two leads, including Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, and Ewan Mitchell. Fennell’s take on the 1847 novel is noted for its modern edge and stylized visual approach, which is consistent with her previous work on Saltburn.

It is currently one of the most talked-about period dramas of the season, drawing audiences who are curious to see how the classic tale of Heathcliff and Cathy has been reimagined for a new audience. Jacob Elordi’s schedule has been incredibly busy lately as he continues to be one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood.

Aside from the press tour for Wuthering Heights, he is in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, where he plays the iconic monster. He also recently completed filming for the third season of the HBO hit Euphoria, which is scheduled to return to screens in April after a long-awaited production cycle.
