Denise Richards Shares Her Routine That Keeps Her Abs Looking Incredible at 55
Denise Richards first found major fame in the 1990s as a quintessential pin-up girl, but three decades later, she is still turning heads with her incredible physique. Having recently celebrated her 55th birthday, the mother of three continues to maintain a figure that rivals her early modeling days.
While her looks have often sparked plastic surgery rumors, the Starship Troopers star has remained firm about her history, stating that she has only done my b***s and has had the same nose and lips since the beginning.
The secret to her longevity in the spotlight often comes down to her disciplined approach to health and wellness. In 2019, she made a major lifestyle change by going gluten-free after viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills noticed her thyroid appeared enlarged during a reunion episode.
She expressed her gratitude to the fans for their observation, noting that it was amazing to me in a short time, eliminating gluten, how much her body and thyroid health improved. When it comes to her daily eating habits, Richards doesn’t follow a traditional schedule and instead describes herself as a bit of a grazer.
She prefers to snack on small, nutrient-dense portions throughout the day, such as fresh vegetables with sea salt, nuts, and cheeses like buffalo mozzarella. For her, the goal is about finding what fuels her best, which often involves a mix of protein and fresh produce.
Fitness is also a major pillar of her lifestyle, and she credits her toned core to a mix of hiking, dance, and Pilates. Specifically, she found that the Pilates reformer was the only thing that helped her regain her flat stomach after undergoing two C-sections.
She believes that consistency is the ultimate secret and encourages others to work out for their own body rather than following generic trends. Outside of the gym, Richards has been open about using technology to help maintain her results.
She is a vocal fan of the Emsculpt Neo, a non-surgical device that uses electromagnetic and radiofrequency energies to build muscle and eliminate fat. The treatment is intense, effectively inducing the equivalent of 20,000 sit-ups in just half an hour, which she uses as a supplement to her active lifestyle.
As of February, Denise is entering a new chapter of her life following a challenging 2025. She recently shared with her followers that she is finally starting to feel like me again after a difficult year that included a public divorce from Aaron Phypers.
Professionally, she remains as active as ever, currently appearing as a “friend of” on the new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo and debuting her own docuseries, Denise Richards and Her Wild Things, which has since been canceled.
Her acting career is also seeing a major resurgence with several high-profile projects. She is currently starring in the new drama series Paper Empire and recently wrapped production on the action sequel Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace.
Fans can also look forward to seeing her in the upcoming film A Walking Miracle, which is slated for release later this year. Between her television ventures, film roles, and her continued work as an animal rights ambassador, Richards is proving that her “Wild Things” era is far from over.
