The prestigious Château de Vincennes served as an otherworldly backdrop for the latest Loewe showcase during Paris Fashion Week on Friday, March 6. An array of high-profile guests gathered to witness the Womenswear Fall/Winter collection,

The show was staged amidst a whimsical installation of giant, plush sea creatures designed by artist Cosima von Bonin. The atmosphere was one of playful intellectualism, perfectly reflecting the creative direction of the house.

Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, now in their sophomore season at the label, centered their collection on the theme of deep-sea exploration and boundless curiosity.

They looked to the scholar James P. Carse for inspiration, prominently featuring a quote from his work on their runway invitations: “A finite game is played for the purpose of winning, an infinite game for the purpose of continuing the play.”

Expanding on this, the duo posed a central question for their artistic vision: “What is fashion but an open field for endless creative play?” The front row was packed with stars, including Emily Ratajkowski, Lil Yachty, Aubrey Plaza, Sissy Spacek, and Julia Garner.

Other notable attendees enjoying the aquatic-themed spectacle included David Jonsson, Metro Boomin, Hari Nef, Lucas Hedges, Wang Yibo, Giselle, Talia Ryder, and True Whitaker. Their presence highlighted the brand’s enduring appeal as a cultural powerhouse during its milestone 180th anniversary year.

The collection itself served as an energetic answer to the designers’ own inquiry, pushing boundaries with inflated silhouettes, colorful latex garments, and intricate leather knits. By reinterpreting familiar parkas, scarves, and slip dresses into exaggerated, whimsical forms, the designers underscored their commitment to rigorous experimentation.

The inclusion of house icons, such as the Amazona 180 satchel, provided a grounded nod to the brand’s long heritage while embracing a modern, spirited future. This event is part of a busy year for many of the attendees, who are balancing major professional commitments with their presence on the international fashion circuit.

Julia Garner, for instance, has been keeping fans updated on the long-anticipated Madonna biopic, where she is cast in the titular role. Meanwhile, Aubrey Plaza continues to be a fixture in film, frequently praised for her authentic approach to her craft and style.

The designers behind the label, McCollough and Hernandez, have successfully transitioned from their tenure at Proenza Schouler to steering this historic house toward a new era of artistic freedom.

With the successful reception of their second collection, they are cementing their status as leaders who can bridge the gap between traditional luxury craft and contemporary, playful aesthetics.
