Woman Arrested After Alleged Shooting at Rihanna’s Property Now Charged With Attempted Murder
Authorities are investigating a frightening situation at Rihanna’s Los Angeles residence following a shooting incident on Sunday afternoon. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman allegedly opened fire on the property at approximately 1:20 p.m.
While the house itself was not struck, several rounds hit the exterior gate of the estate. Police confirmed that five to seven shots were fired during the encounter. Although there were individuals inside the mansion at the time, fortunately, no one was harmed.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, was located shortly after and taken into custody without further resistance. Ortiz now faces a charge of attempted murder and is currently being held on a $10.2 million bail.
Representatives for the singer and her partner, A$AP Rocky, have been contacted for comment, though they have not yet released a public statement regarding the event. This incident is particularly jarring as it follows a history of security concerns for the star over the years.
Aside from this alarming event, Rihanna has been quite focused on her growing family. She welcomed her third child, a daughter named Rocki, in September 2025, after famously announcing her pregnancy at the Met Gala earlier that year.
She recently joked about the possibility of even more children, telling fans on social media that motherhood has become her greatest priority. On the professional side, the long-awaited ninth album, often referred to as R9, seems to be nearing a potential release.
Early this year, the artist was spotted entering recording studios in New York City and later shared clips of herself working with her creative team. She has hinted that the new project will move away from traditional genres to reflect her personal evolution as an artist.
Fans can also soon see, or rather, hear her in a major theatrical project. Rihanna starred as the voice of Smurfette in the musical Smurfs. The film features an incredible ensemble cast including James Corden, Nick Offerman, Daniel Levy, and Octavia Spencer.
In addition to her film work, there are rumors that she is preparing for a significant return to the stage. Reports suggest her team is currently scheduling a massive summer stadium tour for the year, marking her first major tour in a decade.
While she has been busy with her Fenty empire and her children, it appears the “Umbrella” singer is finally ready to step back into the global spotlight after many years of solely focusing on her businesses.
