Mickey Rourke has officially lost his Los Angeles home after a court ruled he owed nearly $60,000 in back rent. The eviction was confirmed this week by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to People.

The judge sided with Rourke’s landlord, Eric T. Goldie, after the actor failed to respond to the lawsuit or appear in court. The ruling canceled the rental agreement and gave Goldie full possession of the Drexel Avenue property.

The eviction notice had been served to Rourke back in December, giving him three days to pay $59,100 or leave the home. Earlier this year, news spread that a GoFundMe had been started to help cover the debt, but Rourke denied any involvement. Someone claiming to be an assistant to his manager reportedly set up the fundraiser, which ended up raising $100,000.

Rourke addressed the situation in an Instagram video, making it clear he had no connection to the GoFundMe.

“Somebody set up some kind of foundation or fund for me to donate money, like in a charity, and that’s not me, OK? If I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no f**** charity. I’d rather stick a gun up my a** and pull the trigger,” he said.

“Whoever did this, I don’t know why they did it, I don’t understand it. I wouldn’t know what a GoFund foundation is in a million years. You know, my life is very simple, I don’t go to outside sources like that. And yeah, it is embarrassing, but I’m sure I’ll get over it like anything else.”

The eviction marks a public setback for the actor, whose legal troubles around the property drew widespread attention after the GoFundMe controversy. Despite the embarrassment, Rourke seems determined to move past the situation on his own terms.
