Megan Fox Reveals the Project She Calls the Worst Moment of Her Career

While having a boss you dislike can be a struggle, Megan Fox discovered that comparing a superior to a dictator is probably the fastest way to lose a job. In 2009, the actress was at the peak of her fame and preparing for the third Transformers film, Dark of the Moon.

However, an interview about her experience working with director Michael Bay quickly took a turn that would change her career trajectory forever. During the conversation, Fox described the filmmaker’s intense demeanor on set in a way that left little room for misinterpretation.

She remarked, He wants to create this insane, infamous madman reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. The comment did not sit well with the production team, and Fox was promptly removed from the franchise and replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The actress later admitted to Cosmopolitan that the fallout was a massive learning experience for her younger self. She reflected, That was absolutely the low point of my career.

But without ‘that thing’, I wouldn’t have learned as quickly as I did. Fox noted that her 23-year-old self was far too self-righteous to apologize at the time, even comparing her conviction to that of a historical martyr. I really thought I was Joan of Arc, she added.

Despite the blockbuster success of the film she missed out on, Fox moved toward projects that eventually earned her a different kind of legacy. That same year, she starred in the horror-comedy Jennifer’s Body, written by Diablo Cody.

While the movie initially received a lukewarm response from critics, it has since been reclaimed as a cult feminist classic, with fans praising Fox’s performance and the film’s sharp social commentary.

Following a period of more experimental roles and some time away from major franchises, the actress returned to the spotlight in 2014 as April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

She has since continued to work across various genres, including a role in the 2024 thriller Subservience. Most recently, she lent her voice to the character Toy Chica in the 2025 horror sequel Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, a move that delighted the franchise’s dedicated fan base.

In her personal life, Fox has recently been the subject of much discussion due to her evolving relationship with musician Machine Gun Kelly. After a public break from social media, she returned in March with several viral posts that prompted a flirty response from Kelly.

The two continue to co-parent their daughter, Saga Blade, who was born in March 2025, and appear to be on positive terms as they navigate this new chapter. Beyond her recent voice work, Fox has expressed a strong interest in joining the new DC Universe, specifically eyeing the role of Poison Ivy.

While no official casting has been confirmed, fans have been vocal in their support of the idea. With her career seeing a steady resurgence and her focus on creative projects that excite her, Fox remains a captivating figure in the entertainment industry.
