First Look at ‘Baywatch’ Reboot Features Noah Beck Shirtless on the Beach
The shores of Los Angeles are officially buzzing with the return of a television legend. Production for the highly anticipated Baywatch revival has commenced, and early sightings from the set indicate that the classic red swimwear is back in a major way.
On the morning of March 17, cast members Noah Beck and Jessica Belkin were photographed during an intense filming session on the sand. The duo was seen performing the franchise’s signature beach runs, signaling a high-energy start to the new series.

This project, which is being developed for Fox, serves as a direct continuation of the narrative established in the original long-running drama. It aims to bridge the gap between nostalgic fans and a new generation of viewers by blending legacy characters with fresh faces.
In a significant nod to the show’s history, David Chokachi is returning to the fold to reprise his fan-favorite role as Cody Madison. Meanwhile, Arrow star Stephen Amell has stepped into the lead role as the son of the iconic Mitch Buchannon.
During Tuesday’s shoot, Beck was seen working shirtless, while Belkin donned a one-piece swimsuit reminiscent of the style made famous by Pamela Anderson decades ago. The visual continuity suggests that the reboot will lean heavily into the aesthetic that once made the show a global phenomenon.

According to the official synopsis provided by Variety, the story centers on a mature version of a familiar character. “The wild child Hobie Buchannon we all loved from the original series is now a Baywatch captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch,” the description reads.
The plot thickens with the arrival of a surprise family member who disrupts Hobie’s established life. “Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie, the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad,” the synopsis explains.
As for the returning Cody Madison, his role has evolved into that of a community anchor and mentor. “OG heartthrob Cody Madison now runs The Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar-and-grill, and still puts on the red trunks for the occasional shift saving lives,” the details continue.
The character remains a central figure for the younger lifeguards, acting as both a friend and a guide. “He’s a mentor to and a friend, providing a second home for his fellow lifeguards… and always offering free wings after a big save,” the report concludes.
Noah Beck, who portrays the character Luke, has been transitioning from a prominent career as a digital creator into more formal acting roles. He recently starred in the romantic comedy The QB Bad Boy and Me and has been a frequent fixture at major fashion weeks globally.
Jessica Belkin, taking on the pivotal role of Charlie Buchannon, is a rising talent who previously appeared in American Horror Story: Hotel and The Orville. Her casting as the next generation of the Buchannon family marks a significant breakthrough for her career.
Stephen Amell’s participation brings a seasoned action-star pedigree to the project following his decade-long run as Oliver Queen. Aside from Baywatch, he also stars in the upcoming legal drama Suits: L.A., further cementing his status as a television mainstay.
The revival is being spearheaded by showrunner Matt Nix, known for his work on Burn Notice, and is expected to feature high-stakes rescue sequences alongside interpersonal drama. Fox has positioned the series as a centerpiece for their upcoming broadcast schedule.
With filming now in full swing, more cameos from original series regulars are rumored to be in the works. The production has drawn large crowds of onlookers to the Los Angeles coastline, all hoping to catch a glimpse of the new elite team in action.
Fans can expect the series to debut later this year, bringing the sun-drenched adventures of the L.A. County Lifeguards back to primetime. The mix of veteran wisdom and youthful ambition seems poised to capture the spirit of the original 1990s hit.
