Ryan Gosling, 45, Dazzles in Tailored Suit and Smoldering Gaze at ‘Project Hail Mary’ Premiere
Ryan Gosling was the center of attention at the New York premiere of Project Hail Mary on March 19. The sci-fi film, based on Andy Weir’s bestselling novel, is set to hit theaters tomorrow and has already received high praise from early critics.
For the red carpet, Gosling chose a sophisticated suit that mixed vintage and modern style. He wore a grey and white micro-check two-piece suit with wide lapels and structured shoulders. A pale pink shirt peeked out from under his jacket, and a slim burgundy leather tie added a polished touch.
Dark cherry-red loafers matched the tie, completing the coordinated look. His hair was swept back in a relaxed style, paired with a neatly groomed beard.

During a short carpet interview, Gosling spoke about the challenges of portraying Ryland Grace, a man stranded alone in space. “This role required me to go to some very quiet, solitary places within myself to truly understand Ryland’s isolation,” he said. He also explained the film’s deeper message: “It is a story about the absolute best of humanity and the lengths we will go to when everything is on the line.”
Project Hail Mary follows Ryland Grace, a middle-school teacher turned astronaut who wakes up aboard a spacecraft with no memory of how he got there. As he pieces together the mission, he realizes he is the only survivor tasked with saving the sun from a catastrophic threat.
The movie also stars Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt, with Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub, and James Ortiz (the voice and puppeteer for the alien Rocky) rounding out the cast. Phil Lord and Chris Miller directed the film, which is expected to be a major box office hit.
