Neighbor Claims He Pushed Alan Ritchson Before ‘Reacher’ Star Fought Back
The neighbor involved in a viral altercation with “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson has come forward to admit he initiated the physical contact. Ronnie Taylor, a resident of a Nashville suburb, explained that he pushed the actor twice before the situation turned into a violent beatdown.
The confrontation, which took place on Sunday, March 22, was reportedly the result of a two-day dispute over Ritchson speeding through the neighborhood on his motorcycle. Taylor told reporters that the tension began on Saturday when he heard the constant sound of a motorcycle engine revving and speeding.
“I eventually saw the guy Saturday, and I didn’t know who it was. I sort of flippantly — and he was quite a ways away — said, ‘Guy, can you just slow it down please?’” Taylor recalled during an interview with TMZ.

He noted that several other neighbors had also captured footage of the speeding on their doorbell cameras. The situation reached a breaking point the following day when Taylor saw Ritchson riding past his house again, this time accompanied by two children on their own motorbikes.
Taylor stepped out into the road to confront the actor, leading to a quick escalation of tempers. “I did push him because he was coming towards me on his bike. He did it again for a second time. I pushed him a second time, and I think the second time he got off his bike and kicked the crap outta me,” Taylor admitted.
A video of the fight shows Ritchson striking Taylor multiple times, and the neighbor later claimed the actor hit him at least four times, including while he was on the ground. Despite the bruises and swelling, Taylor expressed that he did not hold long-term malice but felt someone needed to address the safety of the neighborhood.
“I don’t wish the guy any malice or ill will, but we just don’t need people riding through neighborhoods like this. And I just decided I’m going to take a stand, because someone has to,” he added.
Law enforcement is currently investigating the incident, though no arrests have been made as of late March. While Taylor provided his account of the event, sources close to Ritchson have alleged the actor was acting in self-defense after being aggressively provoked.
The viral footage continues to spark debate online as fans and residents weigh in on whether the physical response was justified under the circumstances. Outside of this recent neighborhood controversy, Alan Ritchson has been enjoying a massive peak in his professional career.
He is currently starring in the Netflix sci-fi action film War Machine, which was released on streaming on March 6, and has quickly climbed to the top of the streaming charts. The film follows an elite team of Army Rangers who encounter an extraterrestrial threat during a training exercise, and critics have praised it as a fun, high-stakes throwback to classic action cinema.
Fans of his most famous role are also looking forward to more of Jack Reacher in the near future. While the third season of Reacher aired in early 2025, filming for the fourth season wrapped in late 2025 and is expected to premiere on Prime Video later this year.
Additionally, a spin-off series focusing on the character Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, is currently in post-production and is slated to debut before the main show returns for its fourth installment.
Between his busy filming schedule and his roles in major franchise expansions, the actor remains one of the most sought-after action stars in Hollywood, even as he navigates the fallout from this personal dispute.
