Tom Holland Reveals The One Thing He’s Proudest Of In ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

As anticipation builds for the next chapter of the wall crawler’s MCU journey, Tom Holland has been making the press rounds talking about everything from his new suit to the emotional toll the role takes on Peter Parker. With ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ set to swing into theaters this summer, fans have been picking apart every interview clip for hints about tone and themes.

The film picks up after the seismic ending of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ where Peter’s identity was erased from the minds of everyone he loves, leaving him to essentially start over. That isolation forms the backbone of the new movie, as Holland has said the story follows Peter learning that independence has its limits and that he can’t go through life completely alone.

In a Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, Holland got candid about what part of the project means the most to him personally. He explained that the message is especially important for young people living in today’s digital age, pointing out how easy it is to sit at home scrolling through a phone all evening, letting your mind turn to mush while forgetting how important real socializing actually is.

This isn’t the first time Holland has framed ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ as more than just another superhero blockbuster. During an interview at the Empire State Building, the actor described the film as being about when young people really find their identity and become adults, adding that having gone through that himself gave him insight into bringing this new chapter of Peter Parker to life.

Holland has also connected this theme directly to community, saying he hopes young viewers everywhere watch the film and come away appreciating that they don’t have to face life’s struggles alone. Given how much of Peter’s arc in this film revolves around rebuilding the relationships he lost, that message feels baked into the plot itself rather than tacked on for marketing.

Behind the scenes, the production has leaned into a sense of community as well. During filming, Holland shared footage describing how different putting the suit on felt this time, partly because it was the first time the production welcomed fans onto set on day one. That same footage showed him interacting with young fans and even lifting a child dressed as Spider-Man over a guardrail for a photo, a small moment that mirrors the very themes he’s been talking about in interviews.

With ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ continuing to dominate entertainment headlines ahead of its release, Holland’s comments add an interesting emotional layer to a film that’s already promising plenty of action and familiar faces. Do you think a message about community and connection can really land in a big summer blockbuster, or does Peter Parker’s story hit different when it’s this personal for Tom Holland himself?
