Taylor Swift Surprises Fans With New Video and a Nod to Travis Kelce
Taylor Swift has added a new music video to her growing collection from The Life of a Showgirl. On Tuesday, her team, Taylor Nation, announced the release online, sharing that the Elizabeth Taylor video was now available on Spotify and Apple Music. “What could you possibly get for the girl on the last day of Women’s History Month? We have something in mind! The Elizabeth Taylor Music Video is out now on @Spotify Premium and @applemusic,” they wrote.
Swift herself teased the release quietly on Instagram with a short story featuring clips of the legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor. The new video showcases a series of archival footage from Taylor’s films, including A Place in the Sun, Elephant Walk, Around the World of Mike Todd, BOOM!, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Cleopatra, and Father of the Bride. Fans were particularly drawn to a shot from BOOM! showing Elizabeth wearing the massive 33.19-carat Krupp diamond, famously gifted to her by Richard Burton in 1968.

Christopher Wilding, Elizabeth Taylor’s son, praised Swift for capturing the spirit of his mother. “She and my mom do seem like kindred spirits. They are both the very embodiment of female empowerment,” he told People. He also appreciated the references in the song to his mother’s signature scents, Portofino and White Diamonds, and to her violet eyes, which he described as “especially magical.”
The video also subtly nods to Swift’s personal life. Her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce, announced in August 2025, is referenced through her own sparkling ring, estimated at around 10 carats. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift captioned the engagement post on Instagram, adding a TNT emoji, a playful reference to their names.
Fans were quick to react to the video, with one writing, “Brb crying my eyes violet,” referencing the lyrics, while another added, “Omg this is amazing and a great way to honor Elizabeth Taylor.”
This release comes after Swift recently mentioned Kelce during an award acceptance speech, showing that the pop star continues to weave personal moments into her work.
This video perfectly blends homage and modern storytelling. Swift not only honors a Hollywood legend but also gives fans a peek into her own life with subtle, personal touches. It’s smart, emotional, and stylish all at once.
