‘Peaky Blinders’ Sequel Bombshell: Barry Keoghan Recast — First Look & Star-Studded New Cast Revealed
The Peaky Blinders story is not over yet, and now there are some big changes coming to the next chapter. The upcoming sequel TV show has just been updated with new casting, fresh details about the story, and a first look at one of its main characters.
According to Netflix, the new series is moving forward in a big way. The platform shared that the sequel will run for two seasons, with each season having six episodes. The story will continue on from the original show, which ended in 2022, and also connect to the recent movie, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which is already available to stream.
One of the biggest changes is the recasting of Duke Shelby. Fans first met Duke in the final season of the original series, where he was played by Conrad Khan. Later, Barry Keoghan took over the role in the movie. Now, Jamie Bell will play Duke in the new show.
The story will follow Duke as he returns to Birmingham, trying to build his own name and legacy. The last time viewers saw him, things were not going well, but this new chapter will show a different side of him.
Netflix also released a first look at Jamie Bell in the role, giving fans an early idea of what to expect from this version of Duke.
The show’s official description gives a clearer idea of the setting and tone. It says the story takes place a decade after World War Two and describes a city full of both chances and danger. It explains, “the race to rebuild Birmingham becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and jeopardy. At its blood-soaked heart is Duke Shelby (Jamie Bell): older, wiser, more ambitious, and most certainly more dangerous.”
The cast will also include several new faces. Charlie Heaton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski are all set to join the series, with Karczewski making her television debut.
Behind the scenes, the show stays in familiar hands. Steven Knight, who created the original Peaky Blinders, is writing the new series as well.
