Kate Beckinsale Slams Hollywood Double Standards, Says Mark Ruffalo “Lucky to Have a P-” After She Was Dropped by Agent
Kate Beckinsale is speaking out about what she sees as unfair treatment in Hollywood. The actress took to social media on Friday after Mark Ruffalo shared a video promoting the new film Palestine 36, a movie about Palestinian resistance to British colonial rule.
Beckinsale didn’t attack Ruffalo directly. Instead, she used the post to highlight her own experience. She claims she was dropped by her agent for showing support for Palestine, while Ruffalo, who voiced similar views, didn’t face any consequences. In a now-deleted comment, she wrote, “I guess having a p*** in Hollywood really counts for a lot because you’ve not been fired by the same Agent that I had.”
She explained that she had been on good terms with the agent for years until she liked a social media post in November 2023 calling for a ceasefire between Palestine and Israel. Beckinsale says she was fired the same day as Susan Sarandon, who also faced backlash for her comments on Gaza. “I liked a post about a ceasefire and I’ve got fired on the same day as Susan Sarandon was fired,” Beckinsale said.

Despite the frustration, Beckinsale praised Ruffalo’s activism but emphasized the cost women pay in Hollywood. “There is a different price to be paid for having a v****,” she wrote. She also claimed that she tried to reach out to Ruffalo months ago about the issue but was ignored, saying, “I DMdyou about this months ago but you ignored me.”
Beckinsale also opened up about personal challenges during that time, including the deaths of her mother, Judy Loe, in July 2025, her stepfather, Roy Battersby, in 2024, and her beloved cat, Clive, in 2023. She described her emotional state while dealing with grief and sudden professional loss. “I was dealing with the fact that on top of my mother having been told she had six weeks to live… I was fired in two sentences after 12 years of friendship with my Agent,” she said.
The comments stirred conversation online before they were deleted. Beckinsale clarified that she wasn’t blaming Ruffalo personally, saying, “I’m okay with him ignoring me… I really and truly support Mark Ruffalo and everything he is doing but no, I will not get a response not here and not ever.”
This isn’t Beckinsale’s first time speaking openly on social media about her struggles. In December 2025, she addressed public scrutiny about her body and emotional well-being following her personal losses, explaining that grief had affected her appetite and energy.
It’s clear Beckinsale is using her platform to highlight what she sees as gender inequality in Hollywood, showing how women can face professional repercussions for speaking out while men may not.
