Cameron Diaz and her husband, Benji Madden, recently surfaced for a rare weekend outing in New York City, marking a departure from their usually private lifestyle. The 53-year-old actress and the 47-year-old Good Charlotte guitarist were spotted on Saturday, April 4, enjoying a casual stroll through the metropolis.

This joint appearance was their first in several months, as the pair typically avoids the lens of the paparazzi to focus on their family. For their city walk, the couple chose comfortable, low-key attire that allowed them to blend in with the Manhattan crowds.

Diaz was seen in a simple white tee tucked into baggy black trousers, layered under a dark, oversized blazer for a touch of structured style. Her husband complemented her relaxed look with a bold yellow and red plaid shirt over a dark t-shirt, completing his outfit with loose pants and a baseball cap.

The duo has been married for over a decade, having originally met through Benji’s brother, Joel Madden, and his wife, Nicole Richie. Since tying the knot in 2015, they have prioritized their domestic life and are now parents to six-year-old Raddix and two-year-old Cardinal.

This public sighting arrives during a particularly active professional period for Diaz, who is currently navigating a significant career resurgence. Her return to the screen continues this week with the debut of Outcome, an Apple TV+ original starring Keanu Reeves and directed by Jonah Hill, which premieres on Friday, April 10.

The film features Diaz in a dark comedy about an aging Hollywood actor who must confront his past after being targeted by an extortionist. This project follows her high-profile return in last year’s Back in Action, which officially ended her eleven-year sabbatical from the industry.

Beyond her immediate release, Diaz is slated for several high-concept productions, including the Netflix comedy Bad Day. Directed by Jake Szymanski, the film follows a single mother’s disastrous attempt to fulfill a simple promise to her daughter.

She is also expected to begin filming the psychological thriller Reenactment alongside Benicio del Toro in Los Angeles later this year. Fans of her most iconic voice role also have much to look forward to, as DreamWorks has confirmed her return for Shrek 5, scheduled for June 30, 2027.

This sequel will reunite the original cast of Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy, with the notable addition of Zendaya, who is reported to be playing the grown-up daughter of Shrek and Fiona. With such a diverse slate of projects, Diaz has successfully transitioned from retirement back into a leading force in Hollywood.
