New Footage Coming to “Avengers: Endgame” in Upcoming Re-Release Ahead of “Doomsday”
Marvel Studios is bringing “Avengers: Endgame” back to cinemas, and this time the film will include previously unseen footage. The re-release is planned ahead of the upcoming crossover movie “Avengers: Doomsday,” which arrives later this year.
The announcement was made during a Walt Disney Studios presentation at CinemaCon by directors Joe and Anthony Russo. According to them, the re-release will not just be a repeat screening. It will feature new material added to the already extended version of the film.
The re-release is scheduled for September 25, while “Avengers: Doomsday” is set to hit theaters on December 18.

Disney is also introducing a new premium format label called “Infinity Vision.” It will be used for both “Endgame” and “Doomsday” screenings in select theaters. The company says this format is designed to give audiences a more advanced cinema experience.
Andrew Cripps, head of theatrical distribution for Walt Disney Studios, explained the goal behind the new certification.
He said, “Disney’s standards for production quality are second to none, with every single detail of a film finely tuned for an immersive experience. Infinity Vision certification extends that commitment to the theaters themselves, representing a shared effort between The Walt Disney Studios and the exhibition community to help audiences quickly find the very best screens in their area to experience our films in exactly the way they’re designed to be seen – on a huge screen with the sharpest, clearest color and sound.”
The Infinity Vision branding is meant to highlight theaters that meet high technical standards, including large-format screens, laser projection, and advanced sound systems.
There is also industry attention on the December release window, as “Avengers: Doomsday” will open on the same day as “Dune: Part Three.” That film is expected to have an exclusive IMAX run at launch, adding competition at the box office.
Marvel has not yet revealed what new scenes will be included in the “Endgame” re-release.
