Scarlett Johansson has achieved a lot in her career, but there is one role she has wanted for a long time that she still hasn’t landed. Even though she is a major Hollywood star, she really wants to be a Disney princess. According to a report by The New York Times, this isn’t just a dream for her, but one she shares with her young daughter.

Johansson admitted that she has been trying to get a job as a Disney princess for 20 years. She said, “I’ve been asking for that job for the past 20 years, and nobody has booked me.” While she knows it might not happen since most princesses are young characters, she hasn’t given up hope entirely.

She certainly has the skills for the job. She has a strong singing voice and has put out her own albums. She also sang in movies like Sing and The Jungle Book. The closest she ever got to her goal was voicing Princess Mindy in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, but that didn’t let her wear the iconic dresses or be part of the official Disney princess lineup.

There was a chance for her to join a Disney fairy tale recently. She was linked to a live-action version of Tangled, but not as the lead. She was going to play the villain, Mother Gothel. However, she eventually left that project.

Instead of fairy tales, Johansson is moving toward much darker movies. She is set to star in a new movie for The Exorcist series and will also appear in The Batman: Part II. These are definitely not movies for kids, so her daughter will have to wait a while to see them.

It is actually pretty funny to think that one of the most famous actresses in the world is still waiting for a “call back” from Disney after two decades. Most people see her as a tough superhero, but her desire to play a princess shows a much softer side.

It would be interesting to see if Disney finally gives her a chance, perhaps as a more mature queen or a new kind of royal character. What do you think? Should Disney finally give Scarlett Johansson her crown, or is she better off playing villains and heroes? Let us know in the comments below!
