Charlie Cox’s Praise for Tatiana Maslany Is the Best Argument for More ‘She-Hulk’ in the MCU

Few actors in the current Marvel landscape have managed to command the same level of critical respect as Tatiana Maslany. The Canadian actress made her name portraying multiple distinct clone characters in the BBC America sci-fi series ‘Orphan Black’, a feat that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award and cemented her reputation as one of television’s most technically gifted performers.

When Maslany stepped into the green skin of Jennifer Walters for ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law‘ in 2022, she was taking on something categorically different. The series was built on a tonal balancing act that placed equal weight on spectacle and self-awareness, blending superhero action with sharp sitcom energy and a deeply comedic fourth-wall breaking sensibility. It was the kind of challenge that demanded range, conviction, and a willingness to be genuinely funny inside a universe that rarely asks its heroes to be.

It was during a recent sit-down with TheWrap following the second season finale of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ that Charlie Cox made his admiration for Maslany impossible to ignore. Cox singled her out with unmistakable warmth, saying he thinks she is one of the most talented actors of his generation and that what she accomplished with the character was tremendous, precisely because the tone of the show was so genuinely difficult to get right.

This is far from the first time Cox has gone out of his way to spotlight what Maslany brought to their shared corner of the MCU. Speaking to a crowd at Awesome Con, Cox told Popverse he absolutely loved working with her and called her an incredible actor, adding that he hoped the two would eventually get more time to explore that dynamic on screen. The admiration has always run both ways. Maslany, speaking at a convention panel, praised Cox for how readily he brought his character into the show’s playful world and adapted to a tone that was entirely different from anything Daredevil had done before.

The remarks carry added weight given where Cox currently stands in Marvel’s television landscape. ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ has become the anchor of Disney+ Marvel programming, and remains the only live-action Marvel series on the platform to be renewed for a third season. Season 3 is already in production, following a Season 2 finale that saw Matt Murdock reveal his identity as Daredevil in a courtroom setting, with Cox confirming that the fallout from that moment will carry directly into the next chapter.

Against that backdrop, Cox’s enthusiasm for reuniting with Maslany takes on a particular kind of resonance. He has been candid about wanting more opportunities to explore what those two characters could become together, and with Marvel increasingly weaving its street-level heroes into larger storylines, the appetite for a proper return of Jennifer Walters has never felt more warranted by the people actually making these shows.

Whether that reunion materialises in an ensemble film, a revived solo series, or something audiences have yet to anticipate, Cox has made one thing abundantly clear: Maslany earned every inch of his respect, and then some. If you have been waiting for Marvel to give ‘She-Hulk’ another shot, does hearing her co-star speak about her craft with this kind of conviction make the case feel any more urgent?
