The Official ‘Dutton Ranch’ Trailer Has Arrived and Beth and Rip Are Ready to Start a New War in Texas

Two years after ‘Yellowstone‘ drew its legendary run to a close, the Dutton universe has never felt more alive. Paramount+ has spent the intervening time expanding Taylor Sheridan’s modern Western mythology in every direction, from prequel adventures deep in the past to fresh spinoffs carrying beloved characters into new territory.

Now the most anticipated piece of that expansion is finally taking shape. ‘Dutton Ranch’ is the series ‘Yellowstone’ fans have been holding their breath for, a proper sequel that picks up where ‘Yellowstone’ left Beth and Rip and refuses to let them rest easy. It stands as the fifth television series in the overall franchise.

The official trailer for ‘Dutton Ranch’ has now dropped, confirming a two-episode premiere on May 15, 2026 on both Paramount+ and the Paramount Network, with the nearly two-minute clip showcasing the show’s all-star cast. The footage makes one thing unmistakably clear: Beth and Rip have left Montana behind, but trouble has an uncanny way of finding the Duttons no matter where they plant their boots.

The series relocates Beth and Rip to the fictional South Texas city of Rio Paloma, where a body discovered on their new land immediately complicates their fresh start. That grim discovery sets them on a collision course with Beulah Jackson, a steely rival ranch owner with a 190-year family legacy to protect, portrayed by Annette Bening. Ed Harris also joins the cast as Everett McKinney, alongside Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, and Natalie Alyn Lind.

Cole Hauser framed the show’s emotional center in a conversation with TV Insider: “It’s about creating a family of their own for the first time and leaning on each other for support, love and friendship, all the things you hope you’d see in a small family trying to pick up the pieces and find a way to not only survive but get along in a new environment.” That domestic warmth sits in sharp contrast to the lawless tension of the trailer, which suggests Rio Paloma will test every bond the couple has built.

Behind the scenes, the series carries its own drama, with showrunner and creator Chad Feehan departing the project before its premiere following reported creative clashes with the cast, Taylor Sheridan, and production company 101 Studios. Feehan remains credited as the series creator but will not return for a potential second season, with production having taken place in Ferris, Texas across a punishing summer shoot.

‘Dutton Ranch’ is the first official sequel to ‘Yellowstone’, setting it apart from the prequels and more loosely connected spinoffs that have come before it, with the nine-episode first season dropping weekly every Friday following the launch premiere. The official logline promises that in South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.

Whether Beth’s fire burns just as bright under a Texas sun is now the biggest question in Western television, and if you have already watched the trailer, share your first impressions below and tell us whether you think Rio Paloma can ever truly replace the Yellowstone ranch in your heart.
