The Chilling Text Kelsey Grammer Sent His Ex-Wife That She Still Hasn’t Forgotten
Fifteen years after one of reality television’s most painful public divorces, Camille Grammer is giving fans an unflinching look at what truly happened behind the scenes. The ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ alumna, now known as Camille Meyer, has spent years rebuilding her life since her split from actor Kelsey Grammer, and she has never shied away from addressing the fallout when asked. Her latest candid moment, however, has cut through the noise in a way that few celebrity revelations manage to do.
On the May 18 episode of the ‘Humble Brag’ podcast, hosted by fellow Housewives veterans Cynthia Bailey and Crystal Kung Minkoff, Camille opened up about what communication looked like at the end of her marriage. The conversation drew immediate attention from fans of the Bravo universe, partly because Camille has long been known for her composure in discussing an episode of her life that was uncommonly brutal to live through in public.
The detail that stopped the podcast cold was the text. Camille revealed that after Kelsey left her for flight attendant Kayte Walsh, he sent her a message that read, “I feel no remorse for what I am doing,” a statement she described as very harsh given how deeply she still felt for him at the time. She added that she had believed the two of them were genuinely in love and that their years together had included many joyful moments. The bluntness of the message, delivered via text rather than in person, is what appears to have left the deepest mark.
Their divorce was finalized in February 2011, just two weeks before Kelsey married Walsh, and according to Camille the two have not spoken in 14 years, raising their children through what Kelsey reportedly called “parallel parenting.” She also reflected on the role she played during the marriage itself, noting that she helped him maintain his sobriety and was deeply embedded in supporting his career, even if she was never on ‘Frasier’ herself.
What made the post-split period even more difficult, Camille explained, was the wave of criticism she faced from what she described as Kelsey’s “machine,” a coordinated effort involving fans and industry insiders that she felt was designed to protect his image at her expense. She recalled phoning him directly and asking him to call off what she described as his bulldogs. She described the experience as being thrown into the middle of the ocean without a life raft, completely unable to come up for air.
Camille made clear that she believes Kelsey would have preferred she simply fade from public view, but she has no intention of doing so, telling the podcast she is now fully capable of defending herself. She also expressed sympathy for any reality television star navigating a divorce while cameras are rolling, noting how isolating it is when audiences tend to side with the absent party. Bailey, who went through her own very public divorce on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’, was so moved by Camille’s account that she paused the interview to stand and give her a hug.
Camille has since found happiness in her remarriage and by most accounts has constructed exactly the life she describes, but the rawness of this particular revelation suggests that some wounds, no matter how old, still carry weight when finally spoken aloud. Whether Kelsey Grammer responds to the claims or continues his long silence on the matter remains to be seen, and fans of both the ‘Frasier’ reboot world and the Real Housewives franchise will likely have strong opinions on which side of this story they believe.
