Netflix Is Turning Your Homepage Into a Bookstore With a Brand New Literary Hub
There has never been a better time to be both a devoted reader and a dedicated streamer. The gap between the page and the screen has steadily closed over the past decade, with beloved novels fueling some of television and film’s most talked-about cultural moments.
That relationship has become impossible to ignore on one platform in particular. Book-to-screen adaptations have quietly evolved into one of the most powerful forces driving engagement on Netflix, with titles drawn from literature consistently dominating charts across multiple genres and global audiences.
Now, Netflix has made that connection official with a dedicated destination called ‘Watch Your Favorite Books.’ Launched on June 2, the hub is designed to turn the Netflix homepage into what the platform describes as your favorite bookstore, giving readers a new way to explore stories they love. The feature is available on the Netflix homepage, via search, and at netflix.com/books, accessible globally from launch day.
The numbers behind the decision are striking. In 2025 alone, book-based titles drove more than 9 billion global views, making up nearly 20 percent of all hours watched on Netflix. That momentum carried into 2026, with adaptations holding the number one spot on the Top 10 English TV list for eight of the first thirteen weeks of the year.
Rather than presenting a flat list, the hub is structured around nine distinct reader personas, including categories like ‘Swoonworthy Romances,’ ‘Great Plot Twist,’ ‘Immersive World-Building,’ and ‘Manga and Comics,’ designed to match viewing recommendations to different reading tastes. Featured titles span some of the platform’s biggest successes, from ‘Bridgerton’ and ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ to newer additions like ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures.’ ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,’ based on Holly Jackson’s series, is among the popular adaptations spotlighted in the collection.
Speaking on About Netflix, Mansi Patel, Netflix’s Senior Director of Product Merchandising, said the team wanted to celebrate fan passion around the platform’s library of book adaptations by creating a destination for enthusiasts to explore their favorites and find more stories they love. The hub follows in the footsteps of ‘Your Zodiac Watchlist,’ a feature rolled out in 2025 that recommended series and movies based on users’ astrological signs.
The launch has not been entirely free of online commentary, with some viewers pointing out that the cozy backdrop image Netflix chose for the hub appears to be AI-generated, a detail that landed with a layer of irony given the celebration of human literary creativity sitting at the heart of the feature.
Whether readers plan to use the hub to revisit adaptations of books they already know or to stumble onto something entirely new, ‘Watch Your Favorite Books’ marks a clear statement of intent from Netflix about where it sees a meaningful part of its identity and audience headed.
Which book adaptation on Netflix do you think deserves far more attention than it currently gets, and would a hub like this have helped you find it sooner?
