‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Season 4 Teaser Finally Arrives, And The Culling Game Is About To Get Bloodier

Fans of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ have spent months refreshing their timelines for any sign of life from the anime’s next chapter. The franchise built its reputation on devastating sorcery duels and gut punch storytelling, and the gap between seasons has only sharpened the appetite for more.

The source manga from Gege Akutami wrapped up its run on September 30, 2024, closing out a story that had been serialized for six and a half years since March 2018 and spanned 30 collected volumes. The anime adaptation first debuted in 2020 and expanded through the ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0’ film, a second television season in 2023, and the 2025 compilation movie ‘Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution’, which gave fans an early glimpse of the arc now headed to screen.

That wait got a jolt on June 19, when verified film account DiscussingFilm shared the first teaser for ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Season 4, subtitled ‘Culling Game Arc Part 2’, a clip that pulled in nearly a million views within hours. The footage was revealed during MAPPA’s 15th Anniversary Lineup Reveal livestream, where the studio confirmed the new season is officially in production.

The teaser opens with a brief, silent recap of Season 3 before a possessed Suguru Geto adds a new rule meant to push the Culling Game toward its conclusion. From there it cuts straight into combat, teasing the long awaited showdown between Kinji Hakari and Hajime Kashimo, plus Yuki Tsukumo and Choso’s fight against Geto, who is now under Kenjaku’s control. Maki Zenin, Yuji Itadori, and Megumi Fushiguro also appear as the story pushes deeper into its endgame.

Behind the camera, the reveal confirmed a notable shake up. Takeru Sato, who served as an assistant director on Season 3, is stepping up to direct Season 4, while Shota Goshozono, who previously helmed Season 2 and played a major creative role in Season 3, moves into the position of chief director. Character design duties remain with Yousuke Yajima, Hiromi Niwa, and Sota Yamazaki, with Hiroshi Seko returning to handle series composition and Yoshimasa Teuri composing the score.

The official ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ social accounts teased the announcement with the line “Why can’t you guys just live normal lives!!”, a fitting summary of a story built around sorcerers forced into a brutal battle royale where only one combatant is meant to walk away. Season 3, subtitled ‘Culling Game Part 1’, wrapped on March 27 after airing as part of the Super Animeism TURBO programming block, leaving fans sitting on a cliffhanger for months.

MAPPA has not set a release window for Season 4, only confirming that production is actively underway, though some fans are already pointing to 2027 given how quickly the studio has been moving between seasons. Crunchyroll continues to stream the existing seasons and films for international audiences while the next chapter comes together behind the scenes.

With Hakari, Kashimo, Tsukumo, and Choso all teased for some of the franchise’s most brutal confrontations yet, which ‘Culling Game’ matchup are you most anxious to see animated when ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Season 4 finally arrives?
