‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ Season 2 Teases Its Wildest Rogue Yet With a Roxy Rocket Sneak Peek

Gotham City is gearing up for another dose of noir-soaked chaos, and fans of ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ have spent the summer piecing together every scrap of footage Prime Video has released. The animated series reimagines Batman’s early years with an art deco, 1940s aesthetic that has made it a standout in the crowded world of superhero television. Anticipation has only grown since the first season earned widespread acclaim for its darker, more psychological approach to the Dark Knight mythos.

Season 2 arrives nearly two years after the first season premiered, and the wait has clearly been building toward something bigger. The upcoming season follows a young Bruce Wayne, voiced by Hamish Linklater, during his brutal early years fighting crime in Gotham, and this time the Rogues Gallery is expanding in a big way.

That expansion is exactly what fueled the latest buzz. A short clip shared by DC Film News shows Batman squaring off against Roxy Rocket in a new sneak peek at the upcoming season, giving fans their first real taste of the character in motion ahead of the premiere. Roxy Rocket is a character created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini for the animated universe, first appearing in a comic book before making her way into the show’s expanded rogues lineup.

She will not be riding in alone. This season’s rogues lineup also includes The Riddler, Joker, Mad Hatter, and Scarecrow, with the Joker having already been teased in the closing moments of the Season 1 episode ‘Savage Night,’ where he was shown testing a Joker Venom formula that twists victims’ faces into a frozen grin. Carrie Kelley, the iconic female Robin, is also set to appear this season, this time sporting a retro, Grey Ghost inspired outfit.

Prime Video confirmed the season two release plans back in June, revealing that all ten new episodes will premiere together on Friday, July 31, exclusively on the platform in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The season’s trailer has leaned heavily into Edward Nygma’s Riddler, giving him a noir appropriate menace that fits the show’s period setting, while still saving room for surprises around every corner of Gotham.

Behind the scenes, the creative pedigree remains firmly intact. The series continues to be shepherded by Matt Reeves, Bruce Timm, and J.J. Abrams, a trio whose influence has helped shape both the show’s visual identity and its willingness to dig into deep cut DC Comics characters that casual fans might not immediately recognize. Much of the returning voice cast is set to reprise their roles, including Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn, Jason Watkins as Alfred, and Krystal Joy Brown as Barbara Gordon, though Prime Video has not yet revealed who will be voicing new characters like Roxy Rocket, Carrie Kelley, or the Joker himself.

With the July 31 premiere now just days away, the mystery around Roxy Rocket’s voice actor and her full role in the season is only adding to the excitement. Between a stacked rogues gallery and a binge worthy ten episode drop, this looks like the biggest test yet for Timm’s version of Gotham. Do you think Roxy Rocket is going to steal the show once ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ Season 2 finally rockets onto Prime Video?
