Celebrities joining new social platforms usually feel like a formality by the time it actually happens, arriving years after fans have already been begging for it. When a major star finally does take the leap, though, the moment tends to carry a little extra weight, especially when it’s tied to something genuinely worth celebrating.

That’s exactly the kind of debut one Oscar-winning actress delivered this week, marking her arrival on one of the internet’s biggest platforms with a moment tailor-made for her most devoted fans.

Nicole Kidman has officially joined TikTok, and her very first video captured behind-the-scenes footage of her getting ready for the London premiere of ‘Practical Magic 2.’ Posted on August 27, the clip showed stylists, makeup artists, and hairstylists working to perfect Kidman’s wavy blonde hair and glittering gown ahead of the red carpet, all set to Adéla’s track “Ain’t in LA.”

Kidman captioned the debut post “Magic brought me here,” complete with hashtags for the film and its official account, a nod that instantly resonated with fans given the timing of both the platform debut and the film’s long-awaited arrival. For the premiere itself, Kidman wore a custom Chanel gown covered in sequins, featuring draped gold chain detailing across the bust and shoulders, paired with matching gold pumps and a sparkling watch.

The video didn’t stop at getting ready. Kidman also shared footage of herself greeting fans, signing autographs, and posing alongside her longtime co-star Sandra Bullock, along with newer cast members Joey King and Maisie Williams, before heading into the screening itself. The gesture felt especially fitting given how long fans have waited for this particular reunion to happen.

‘Practical Magic,’ based on Alice Hoffman’s 1995 novel, originally starred Kidman and Bullock as Gillian and Sally Owens, witch sisters descended from a survivor of the Salem Witch Trials who must confront a family curse that kills the men they fall in love with. The sequel, arriving nearly 28 years after the original, sees both actresses reprising their roles alongside Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest as the sisters’ eccentric aunts.

Kidman previously opened up about the long road to getting this sequel made, telling Variety’s Marc Malkin that she and Bullock had been eager to revisit the material since filming the first movie decades earlier. Reflecting on that history, she said, “When we were making it, we definitely did. We’re so excited. Yes, yes, beyond excited. You heard our spell. We put out our spell already.”

Beyond Kidman and Bullock, the sequel’s cast also includes Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod in previously undisclosed roles, with Susanne Bier directing from a screenplay co-written by Akiva Goldsman, who also worked on the original film. ‘Practical Magic 2’ is set to hit theaters on September 10, giving fans just a couple more weeks to wait before the Owens sisters officially return to the big screen.

Given how quickly Kidman’s debut video has resonated with fans, racking up tens of thousands of likes within hours of posting, it’s clear her arrival on TikTok couldn’t have been better timed.
