Marvel’s promotional machine has been working overtime this fall, building anticipation for December’s massive crossover event by leaning heavily on nostalgia for the film that started it all. Every new piece of marketing feels less like a standalone campaign and more like the opening chapter of a much bigger story Marvel is about to tell.

That approach continued this week, with a fresh international poster giving fans another striking visual reminder of exactly what’s returning to theaters, and why.

A new international poster for ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore‘ has been released, in theaters September 25. The Japanese-language artwork features Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet, adorned with all six colored Infinity Stones, dripping with paint splatters in each stone’s respective color, above a silhouette of the assembled Avengers team beneath text reading “Reassemble the Team.”

According to Variety, Disney announced the re-release of “Avengers: Endgame,” the second-highest-grossing film of all time, positioning it strategically between “Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s” July 31 debut and “Avengers: Doomsday’s” December 18 premiere. Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed the original “Endgame,” are also helming “Doomsday,” with the studio framing this re-release as a deliberate bridge between the two films.

This isn’t simply a straightforward theatrical rerun. According to ODEON’s official listing, Infinity Vision, Dolby Vision, and IMAX screenings will run 185 minutes, four minutes longer than the film’s original 183-minute cut, thanks to new footage specifically setting up “Avengers: Doomsday.” Dark Horizons reported that advance tickets for the re-release went on sale just days before this new international poster dropped, with the outlet noting Endgame’s return is being positioned as essentially “required viewing” ahead of the sequel.

The Russo brothers marked the original announcement by sharing a video of moviegoers’ emotional reactions during Endgame’s climactic team-assembly moment, captioning it, “You remember this feeling. You love this feeling. So do we.” Their production company AGBO Films echoed that sentiment, describing the re-release as “the greatest pre-game for Avengers: Doomsday.”

The returning cast for “Doomsday” includes several Avengers alumni reprising their roles, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, alongside cast members from “Thunderbolts*” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” joining the ensemble. Robert Downey Jr. also returns to the franchise, though not as Iron Man, instead stepping into the role of the film’s central villain, Doctor Doom.

Given how deliberately Marvel is framing this re-release as connective tissue leading into December’s massive crossover event, this new poster feels like another calculated step in building momentum for what’s shaping up to be one of the studio’s biggest theatrical events in years. With the film returning to screens worldwide on September 25 and “Doomsday” following just under three months later, fans have plenty of reason to revisit Endgame’s emotional conclusion before the next chapter begins.
