‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Star Chris Evans Just Sold His Hollywood Hills “Captain America” House, and It Wasn’t a Quick Sale
Celebrity real estate sagas have a way of dragging on far longer than anyone expects, especially when a beloved star’s home carries genuine sentimental weight tied to a career-defining role. What might normally be a straightforward sale can stretch into a year-plus ordeal once fans and market conditions get involved.
That’s exactly the story behind one Marvel alum’s Los Angeles property, which finally closed after more than a year of false starts and price cuts.
Chris Evans sold his Hollywood Hills home for over $5 million, according to TMZ, closing the deal after having listed the property for $6.3 million back in June, with a last-minute price reduction apparently sealing the sale. The 45-year-old actor first put the home on the market in May 2025 for $6.995 million, before pulling the listing entirely last November after failing to find a buyer.
Evans relisted the property this past June with a $600,000 price cut and fresh photos, eventually accepting an offer that closed significantly below even that reduced asking price. According to The Real Deal, the final sale price landed closer to $5.38 million, a notable drop from the home’s original near-$7 million ask, reflecting a broader shift in the luxury Los Angeles real estate market.
Evans purchased the 1940s-era property at 7840 Torreyson Drive back in 2013 for $3.5 million, using the home’s private gym to train throughout his decade-long run as Marvel’s Captain America. The 4,599-square-foot, four-bedroom home sits on a sprawling 33,155-square-foot lot along Mulholland Drive, offering sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills alongside amenities like vaulted ceilings, skylights, and a chef’s kitchen outfitted with a 60-inch Wolf range.
Speaking about his decision to sell, Evans explained in a statement that while he’d spent more than a decade in the home enjoying life in Los Angeles, he’d ultimately decided to spend more time on the East Coast, closer to family. That move aligns with reports that Evans, a Massachusetts native, married actress Alba Baptista in September 2023 and has increasingly prioritized proximity to loved ones back home.
TMZ’s coverage of the finished sale highlighted several of the home’s standout features, including its floor-to-ceiling glass doors offering direct views of the hills from the primary bedroom, along with the Bianca marble countertops and skylights that helped define the kitchen’s picturesque design. The property had also functioned as something of a personal Avengers headquarters during Evans’ Marvel years, complete with the dedicated training space he used while preparing for his physically demanding role.
With the sale now officially closed, Evans’ decade-long chapter in the Hollywood Hills has come to an end, marking a clean break from Southern California as he settles into his new life on the East Coast. Given how long this particular listing bounced between price cuts and market hesitation, it’s a fitting conclusion for a home so closely tied to one of Marvel’s most iconic on-screen legacies.
