Marvel fans have been looking at every new piece of Avengers: Doomsday promotional material for possible clues, and now a small detail from an unexpected piece of merchandise may have created a huge new Loki theory. The latest discovery involves promotional artwork printed on notebooks and school supplies in Brazil. At first glance, the artwork might not seem especially important, but fans believe it shows the Time Variance Authority, or TVA, sitting in the background of the image. Since Loki is already confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday, that tiny detail could potentially reveal something important about his role in the upcoming Marvel movie.

The artwork was originally shared by ComicBook.com on X and appears to have been created for Tilibra, a Brazilian stationery company. The image features several major characters from Avengers: Doomsday, including Sam Wilson and Doctor Doom, played by Anthony Mackie and Robert Downey Jr. However, what caught the attention of fans was not the main characters. Instead, viewers noticed what appears to be the TVA positioned between Sam Wilson and Doctor Doom in the background.

That small detail immediately brought Loki back into the conversation. The character has one of the strongest connections to the TVA in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe because the organization played a major role throughout his Disney+ series. By the end of Loki, the character had taken on an entirely different position in the multiverse, becoming the God of Stories and taking responsibility for holding the timelines together. His return in Doomsday therefore raises a major question: why would Loki leave that position and become involved in another massive superhero conflict?

If the TVA is actually important to the story, it could provide an answer. The promotional artwork may suggest that the TVA will have a direct connection to the events of Doomsday, although Marvel Studios has not confirmed that interpretation. The image could simply contain a background reference for fans, but it could also be pointing toward a much larger storyline involving the multiverse. That possibility has already encouraged fans to connect the TVA with Doctor Doom and the strange events that appear to be building toward the movie’s central conflict.

Doctor Doom’s motivations remain one of the biggest mysteries surrounding Avengers: Doomsday. Earlier promotional material has shown Doom telling the Avengers that they have been living stolen lives, a strange statement that immediately led to theories about alternate realities, timelines, and the nature of the MCU itself. If the TVA becomes involved, the organization could potentially explain why certain characters are being brought together and why the boundaries between different realities appear to be breaking down.

The TVA could also introduce a completely new problem for some of the Avengers. Characters such as Sam Wilson’s Captain America and Shuri’s Black Panther have not had the same direct experience with the multiverse as characters like Loki, Doctor Strange, or Spider-Man. Discovering that an organization exists outside normal time and has been monitoring or controlling different timelines could completely change their understanding of the threat they are facing. It would also give Loki a natural reason to become involved because few characters understand the TVA and its history better than he does.

There is already an even bigger theory circulating among fans. Some believe Doctor Doom could be planning an attack on the TVA itself. If that turns out to be true, the organization would become much more than a background Easter egg. It could become one of the key pieces of the movie’s story and potentially explain why Loki is needed during the conflict. A battle involving Doom and the TVA would also give Marvel a way to connect several different parts of its multiverse storyline into one major event.

Still, there is no official confirmation that this is what Marvel has planned. The promotional artwork came from Tilibra merchandise rather than Marvel Studios itself, and the TVA-looking detail could ultimately be nothing more than a visual reference. Fans have been burned before by reading too much into promotional material, especially with a movie as secretive as Avengers: Doomsday. For now, the Loki and TVA connection remains a theory based on the artwork and the information already released about the movie.

Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU as Doctor Doom has made the speculation even more intense. His connection to Tony Stark gives Marvel an enormous story to explore, while Chris Evans is also confirmed to return as Steve Rogers despite the character’s retirement at the end of Avengers: Endgame. With so many major characters returning from different points in MCU history, it makes sense that fans are searching every poster, trailer, and piece of merchandise for clues about how the story will bring everyone together.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, and the closer the release gets, the more intense the speculation will become. Whether the TVA is truly central to the story or the artwork is simply hiding a fun Easter egg, the possibility of Loki being directly connected to Doctor Doom’s plan is enough to get Marvel fans talking. If the TVA really is caught in the middle of the conflict, Loki could end up being far more important to Doomsday than many viewers currently expect.
