Rockstar Games has never done anything by half measures, and its soundtracks have long been as central to the Grand Theft Auto experience as the open-world chaos itself. Fictional radio stations packed with licensed hits have defined the series for decades, giving each game its own unmistakable sonic identity.

This time around, though, the studio is taking a very different approach. Rather than leaning solely on existing music, Rockstar has built something entirely new to soundtrack its most anticipated release yet.

Rockstar Games has officially announced ‘Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album,’ an original soundtrack featuring 34 brand-new tracks created specifically for the game’s world of Vice City and Leonida. The album will launch on November 19, the same day as ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ itself, with six debut singles already available to stream.

Those first six tracks offer an early glimpse at just how wide-ranging the project is shaping up to be. The lineup includes Yung Lean’s “That’s It,” featuring Future and Metro Boomin, alongside Travis Scott’s “RHYNO,” which was produced by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.

Rounding out the initial batch are Morgan Wallen’s “Last Thing You Need,” Rauw Alejandro’s “Macacoa 2000,” and a genre-blending collaboration from CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and Etienne de Crécy titled “Sexy Magic.” Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards also appears on the list with “Bright Lights, Big City,” giving the tracklist a surprising rock pedigree alongside its hip-hop, pop, and electronic offerings.

Rockstar described the project as pulling from “a genre-defying roster of the most exciting artists in the world,” a description that already tracks given how little overlap exists between names like Travis Scott, Keith Richards, and PinkPantheress. The album is being produced in partnership with Atlantic Records, and Rockstar has not yet revealed the remaining 28 tracks or the rest of the artist lineup.

Beyond the streaming release, Rockstar is also rolling out physical formats for fans who want something tangible. A limited-edition vinyl pressing is scheduled to ship on November 20, one day after the digital release, while a CD edition is priced at $19.98 and includes the full album along with an accompanying booklet.

All formats are currently available to pre-order, and the album itself can be pre-saved now across major streaming services ahead of its November 19 arrival. Given how closely the release date lines up with the game’s own launch, it is clear Rockstar wants the music and the world of ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ to land in tandem.

The pairing of Future and Metro Boomin on the Yung Lean track alone has generated plenty of buzz among fans parsing the six confirmed songs for hints about the game’s tone and setting. Between the Daft Punk production credit, the country crossover from Wallen, and Keith Richards’ unexpected inclusion, the early tracklist suggests Rockstar is aiming for something far broader than a typical hip-hop or pop-driven game soundtrack.

With 28 more songs still to be revealed, speculation over who else might appear on ‘Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album’ is likely to dominate fan conversation in the weeks leading up to its release. For a franchise built partly on the strength of its curated radio stations, betting on entirely original music is a notable departure, and one that could reshape how players experience Vice City and Leonida from the very first drive.

What do you think of Grand Theft Auto VI getting its own original album?
