‘The Terminal List’ Is Finally Back, and James Reece’s Next Mission Spans Four Continents

Military thrillers rarely manage to combine gritty realism with genuine global stakes, but Prime Video found the formula with a series that turned a Navy SEAL’s personal vendetta into one of streaming’s biggest breakout hits. That success set a high bar for whatever came next, and fans have spent years wondering when Reece would return.

Four years after the original series first captivated audiences and racked up more than 100 million viewers worldwide, the wait is officially coming to an end. Prime Video has been steadily building anticipation with teasers and key art throughout the summer, and the payoff has finally arrived.

Prime Video has released the first full trailer for ‘The Terminal List’ Season 2, confirming that all eight episodes will premiere simultaneously on Wednesday, October 21, in more than 240 countries and territories. Chris Pratt returns as Navy SEAL Commander James Reece, this time facing a conspiracy that stretches far beyond the personal reckoning that defined the show’s first season.

Based on Jack Carr’s bestselling novels, Season 2 draws from the author’s second book, ‘True Believer.’ Where the first season centered on a tightly wound revenge story, this new chapter expands into a globe-trotting espionage thriller, sending Reece across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

According to Prime Video’s official synopsis, Reece uncovers a conspiracy connecting Moscow to Langley, one that ultimately ties directly into his own family’s history. That personal stake gives the season’s international scope an emotional anchor, keeping Reece’s journey from becoming purely a globe-hopping action spectacle.

The trailer leans into that tension, showing a haunted, battle-worn Reece being pulled back into action after seemingly setting his violent past behind him. It is a familiar setup for the character, but one that now unfolds on a dramatically larger stage than the show’s debut season ever attempted.

Pratt is joined by a mix of returning favorites and new additions rounding out the ensemble. Tom Hopper returns as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu as Katie Buranek, Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry, bringing back much of the core dynamic that anchored the first season.

That expanded roster reflects the season’s broader geographic and narrative ambitions, adding new alliances and threats for Reece to navigate as the conspiracy unfolds.

Unlike shows that trickle out episodes weekly, ‘The Terminal List’ Season 2 will follow the same all-at-once release model as its predecessor, dropping the full eight-episode season in one go. That approach worked in the franchise’s favor the first time around, fueling the kind of binge-driven word of mouth that helped push the series past the 100-million-viewer mark globally.

The series remains executive produced by Pratt, Antoine Fuqua, showrunner David DiGilio, and author Jack Carr himself, with Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, and Civic Center Media handling production.
