‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Star Simone Ashley Is Liquid Gold in a Plunging Champagne Satin Gown

Simone Ashley has been having quite the fashion moment this week. The ‘Bridgerton’ and ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ star kicked things off in Milan, where she walked the runway at Vogue World: Milano in a Tod’s ensemble built around a mocha brown pinstripe suit, a matching chocolate button-up, and a jacket casually draped over her arm.

That office-siren look felt especially fitting given her latest role. In ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, Ashley plays Miranda Priestly’s newest assistant, and the sequel was even filmed in Milan last September, when she arrived at Dolce & Gabbana’s show alongside Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci in character.

Now a very different look is making the rounds. On September 24, Film Updates shared a set of newly posted photos of Ashley credited to photographer Rebecca Spencer, showing her in a pale champagne satin halter gown against a white interior.

The floor-length column dress has a soft sheen and a deep plunging neckline, with the fabric skimming her figure in a clean, fluid line down to the floor. Ashley wore her long jet-black hair center-parted in loose waves and kept accessories to a minimum, letting the gown do all the talking.

The post quickly caught fans’ attention, racking up 25.9K views, 831 likes, and 117 reposts. One admirer simply replied that she looked beautiful, which pretty much sums up the reaction.

It hasn’t been made clear whether the photos were taken before or during her Milan trip. Either way, as ComicBasics noted, the gown offers a soft counterpoint to the sharp tailoring she wore on the Vogue World runway earlier in the week.

Ashley has built a reputation for fearless fashion. At the 2026 Met Gala on May 4, she climbed the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing only threaded silver chains, celebrating the “Costume Art” exhibit’s focus on the dressed body, and finished the look with jeweled bracelets and chandelier earrings.

That wasn’t her first big Met moment either. E! Online recalled that she debuted at the event in 2022 in a bronzed bodice and black Moschino skirt with a dramatic train, then returned in 2024 in a blue sequin Prabal Gurung gown with knee-length hair.

Her other memorable looks include a red 16Arlington dress with a corset bodice and bubble hem at the 2024 Monte-Carlo Television Festival, and a full Prada look straight off the runway for the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 show in Milan.

The Italian fashion capital has become a regular stop for Ashley. Last year, she turned heads in a green silk and lace mini dress at the EE72 Milan launch during fashion week.

This season, the Spring/Summer 2027 shows run from September 22 to 28, with Demna’s Gucci show and Moschino’s new creative directors debuting on September 25. That leaves plenty of room for Ashley to deliver another standout look before the week wraps.

Ashley first rose to fame with ‘Sex Education’ and ‘Bridgerton’, where she plays Kate, who has grown into her role as viscountess. Her résumé has kept expanding with Prime Video’s ‘Picture This’, in which she played a struggling photographer named Pia, and Joseph Kosinski’s ‘F1’ alongside Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, and Javier Bardem.

With ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ putting her at the heart of one of fashion’s most beloved film franchises, it makes sense that her off-screen style keeps drawing so much attention. The 31-year-old seems to move effortlessly between polished tailoring and old-Hollywood glamour.
