Rockstar’s Pricey ‘GTA 6’ Collector’s Box Has Almost Everything Except the Game
With ‘GTA 6‘ less than 2 months from launch, Rockstar Games is ramping up its marketing push for what Kotaku calls likely to be this year’s biggest video game release and one of the biggest game launches in history. The game hits PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, and the studio has been steadily revealing how fans can spend their money ahead of launch.
Pricing has already been a hot topic. Rockstar confirmed on June 24 that the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99, with pre-orders opening the next day. There’s also no disc release, since physical copies on both consoles contain a download code instead.
Now the studio has revealed its biggest physical product yet. On September 24, Rockstar officially announced ‘Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection’, a premium collector’s box priced at $399.99 in the US and £349.99 in the UK that notably does not include the game.
The reveal came after hours of speculation, when wishlists for the collection were spotted on the Rockstar Store. Pre-orders are available exclusively through the store with very limited stock, and the box arrives on November 19, the same day as the game.
The collection is inspired by Macca the Gator, a fictional TV show that exists inside the game’s world of Leonida. The centerpiece is a 6-inch figure of Macca enjoying a smoke and a flamingo blood martini, with a twist-open base that doubles as a stash compartment, a Rockstar tradition according to TheGamer.

Fans also get matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTAVI logo, plus a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback hat with Vice City Leonida embroidery. A ripstop crossbody bag with patterned pink lining rounds out the wearable pieces.
The smaller extras include an electroplated pink glass Macca mirror, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, a Vice City swizzle spoon, and a razor-blade-style keychain. There are also 9 enamel pins in a custom metal tin, 9 vinyl stickers in a stash bag, and a double-sided poster featuring the show’s characters on the front and a full map of Leonida on the back.

Some items are clearly aimed at longtime fans. Kotaku noted that the pin tin is directly inspired by the iconic cover of ‘GTA: Vice City’, though the outlet’s writer admitted to not being very excited about the Macca characters without having seen the in-game show yet.
GamesRadar had a similar take, highlighting the spoon and stickers as part of a package of pricey merch, while singling out the double-sided map as the most appealing item. The outlet also noted that more shirts, tote bags, and hats appear to be on the way.
This isn’t the first time Rockstar has sold a collector’s box without a game. GamingBible pointed out that the set resembles the one released for ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’, which also came packed with trinkets but no copy of the game.
The box measures roughly 48 by 34 by 32 centimeters, and Rockstar notes that it’s intended for adult collectors and contains small parts. The Macca theme also ties into the Ultimate Edition’s Goodtime Gear clothing and accessories bundle, which is inspired by the same character.
For die-hard fans, the real question is whether they can grab one before stock runs dry. Anyone who pre-orders either edition of the game before November 20 also gets a free cosmetic bundle called the Vintage Vice City Pack, giving collectors plenty of incentives to lock in early.
At $400, the Vice City Collection is clearly built for superfans with money to spare. Whether the Macca the Gator craze justifies that price tag will depend on how much players fall for Leonida’s fictional TV star once the game finally arrives.
