Hilary Duff Marks Her 39th Birthday With a Radiant New 'Lucky Me' Tour Portrait

It’s been a monumental year for Hilary Duff, and the Lucky Me Tour has turned her long-awaited music comeback into one of pop’s feel-good stories. Her birthday on September 28 arrived right in the middle of it all, giving fans another reason to celebrate the former Disney star.

The timing couldn’t have been busier. Just days earlier, on September 23, Duff announced 32 new dates across Europe, Latin America and the U.S., extending a tour that fans feared was winding down.

The tour began in late June in West Palm Beach, Florida, and shows started selling out quickly. There’s also a treat for longtime fans of ‘Lizzie McGuire’. During her intimate comeback shows in January, Duff performed “What Dreams Are Made Of” for the first time since her Disney days, and she has kept it on the tour setlist.

Duff isn’t slowing down any time soon. Before the latest extension, she had shows lined up in Australia and New Zealand this October, including Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on October 26, plus dates in Canada and Mexico early next year.

The newly announced North American leg kicks off October 1 in Sunrise, Florida, and wraps on November 20 in Anaheim, California. Dashboard Confessional and Tegan and Sara will open select U.S. dates. She teased the news in playful fashion too, with a wishful trip to the Trevi Fountain that nodded to ‘Lizzie McGuire’. Ticket presales began around her birthday, with general sales opening on October 2.

The celebrations extend beyond the stage. Duff was also named one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world this year. Between a hit album, a sold-out world tour and a growing list of dates, the birthday portrait feels like a fitting snapshot of her comeback.
