‘Transformers’ Star Megan Fox Takes on Erectile Dysfunction in Playful New RO Commercial
Megan Fox has never shied away from playing up her bombshell image, and lately that confidence has turned into a lucrative advertising career. Earlier this year, she starred in a string of tongue-in-cheek spots for Dr. Squatch, playing the head professor of a fictional institute devoted to teaching men about the brand’s deodorant. Now, the Megan Fox Ro campaign is taking that playful approach into far more sensitive territory.
The 40-year-old star, best known for ‘Transformers’ and ‘Jennifer’s Body’, has long been a favorite among fans who wanted to see her in a superhero suit. That hasn’t happened on the big screen, but her newest role comes surprisingly close.
On Thursday, telehealth company Ro launched a new campaign starring Fox as the human embodiment of Ro Sparks, its fast-acting treatment for erectile dysfunction. Dressed in a skintight red catsuit bearing the Ro Sparks logo, Fox introduces herself as the product and makes clear she is not Viagra.
In the spot, she explains that the prescription-only treatment combines sildenafil and tadalafil, the active ingredients found in Viagra and Cialis. The medication dissolves under the tongue for faster absorption in 15 minutes and can last up to 36 hours. Fox delivers much of the information through playful double entendres, including a joke about the product’s discreet packaging.
The rollout is extensive. The campaign is running on linear TV, streaming, and paid social, along with a Times Square takeover, and tear-away posters are set to appear across New York City next week. Fox is the first celebrity partner ever for Ro Sparks.
The casting decision was deliberate. Ro said its own consumer research found that men tend to be more receptive to messaging about erectile dysfunction when it comes from a woman. The company has previously used patient testimonials from figures like Serena Williams and Charles Barkley for its weight-loss offerings.

All men should feel confident seeking support and exploring treatment for better sex. And what better person to help “spark” that conversation than Megan Fox?

Speaking to Variety, Ro co-founder and chief product officer Saman Rahmanian said Fox could move the conversation about ED out of commercials and into the places where people already talk about sex. He also noted that the condition affects couples, not just men, and revealed that Fox has signed a long-term deal that could see her represent the brand for the next 1 to 2 years.
Fox has embraced the role wholeheartedly. She told People that she felt she might have been born for the campaign, explaining that a topic which already feels heavy didn’t need to be made heavier and could instead be fun.
She also revealed that the creative team went so far with the innuendo that some jokes had to be toned down. Beyond the humor, Fox emphasized that ED can affect both partners in a relationship, which is why she believes women should be part of the conversation as well.
Industry watchers see the campaign as a sign of how much more direct health advertisers have become when addressing sensitive conditions. Variety noted that the spot reflects that broader shift, swapping clinical messaging for a bold, comedic approach.
It’s worth noting one important detail, though. Coverage of the campaign points out that Ro Sparks is a compounded formulation that has not been approved by the FDA, even though its active ingredients are used in approved medications. Fox also does not cite scientific studies or personal health experiences in the ads.
Online, reactions have been predictably mixed, with some viewers laughing off the increasingly over-the-top world of ED commercials. Either way, the campaign has people talking, which is exactly what Ro wanted.
