‘Black Clover’ Season 2 Release Date, Time, Where to Watch and Preview
‘Black Clover’ returns to television on October 3, when its second season premieres in Japan more than five years after the original TV run concluded. The new episodes continue Asta’s journey to become the Wizard King and will stream on Crunchyroll. For a series that has been absent from weekly schedules for so long, the premiere is a significant moment for its fans.
The ‘Black Clover’ second season arrives with a confirmed date, a full trailer and a clear streaming home, though a few details remain unsettled. This guide covers the schedule, the likely release times, the platforms carrying the series and what the new episodes are expected to cover.
‘Black Clover’ Release Date and Weekly Schedule
The new season will debut on October 3 as part of the Fall 2026 anime schedule, streaming on Crunchyroll alongside the release of new episodes in Japan. Crunchyroll officially confirmed the date on September 3. New episodes are set to arrive weekly on Saturdays.
In Japan, the premiere airs at 11 p.m. JST on TV Tokyo and its affiliated networks, while BS TV Tokyo begins broadcasting the series on October 7. That staggered rollout means viewers who prefer to avoid spoilers should plan around the Japanese broadcast.
The road to this date began in July 2025 when a second season was confirmed, followed by a teaser in December 2025 and an October window revealed in June 2026. The first season of the TV series closed in 2021 after 170 episodes that adapted the first major phases of Yuki Tabata’s manga.
Reports about the season length are not fully aligned. Game Rant reports a total of 24 episodes, with the October debut marked as the first part of a split season. FandomWire notes that the production committee has not announced an episode count or confirmed a split structure. GamesRadar, meanwhile, expects a run of 26 episodes.
‘Black Clover’ Release Time in Your Time Zone
Crunchyroll has yet to announce its streaming times, so the available figures are estimates built on the platform usually taking an hour or two to publish episodes after the Japanese broadcast. That reasoning puts the estimated release at 12 a.m. JST on October 4.
Under that estimate, viewers on the US West Coast would see the episode at 8 a.m. Pacific on October 3, while the East Coast gets it at 11 a.m. Eastern. In Greenwich Mean Time the episode lands at 4 p.m. on the same day.
Across Asia, the same estimate points to 11 p.m. on October 3 in the Philippines, Singapore and Hong Kong, and 8:30 p.m. in India. Australian Eastern viewers would wait until 1 a.m. on October 4.
Not every outlet agrees on the window. GamesRadar anticipates a later arrival of around 11:30 p.m. Eastern, while also noting that Crunchyroll has not confirmed anything. Treat every listed time as provisional and check the Crunchyroll app on premiere day.
Where to Watch ‘Black Clover’ Online
An active Crunchyroll subscription is required, and the series is available on the platform in most regions outside Japan. Its Fall 2026 lineup lists the new season for North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
Japanese viewers can use Anime Times, Lemino, U-NEXT and Anime Hodai from October 4, with wider distribution from October 8 on services including Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu and ABEMA. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment also planned to host the premiere in select US theaters on September 21 as part of a sneak peek screening event.
Anyone catching up before the premiere has several options. Earlier episodes are available on Crunchyroll, the 2023 anime film is exclusive to Netflix, and the completed manga can be read digitally through the Viz Media and Manga Plus apps. The first season is also listed on Hulu, Disney+ and Netflix.
An English dub has been confirmed, but no release date has been announced. Viewers who rely on dubbed episodes will need to wait for further word from Crunchyroll.
‘Black Clover’ Preview and the Spade Kingdom Raid
The new season picks up directly with the Spade Kingdom conflict rather than restarting Asta’s story. The Dark Triad sits at the center of the plot, and Yami, William Vangeance and Heart Kingdom Queen Lolopechka have all been captured. That gives the story a personal edge, since the heroes are working to rescue their own leaders.
The official synopsis describes tyranny spreading across the Clover Kingdom, with Asta and the Magic Knights launching a desperate raid on the Spade Kingdom to free their squad captains. Asta also needs to master the true power of his devil linked Anti Magic to help his allies.
The full trailer arrived on July 5 and confirms the Spade Kingdom Raid arc. It shows Asta’s Devil Union, Yuno’s Spirit Dive and the devil powers used by Nacht, along with the large scale battle ahead. A Road to 2nd Season campaign has also been revisiting the first anime’s major arcs, from the Magic Knights entrance exam through the Elf Reincarnation storyline.
Studio Pierrot remains in charge of animation with Ayataka Tanemura directing, Keiichiro Ochi handling series composition, Itsuko Takeda returning as character designer and Minako Seki continuing on music. If you have followed the story since the original run ended, tell us in the comments which moment from the Spade Kingdom raid you most hope the new episodes get right.
