‘Shameless’ Star Emmy Rossum Serves Effortless Elegance in New Photos Amid a Busy Paris Fashion Week
Emmy Rossum has been one of the most stylish names circulating through Paris Fashion Week this season. The Spring/Summer 2027 shows run through October 6, and the actress and producer has been popping up at some of the week’s most exclusive events.
On October 2, she arrived at Edward Enninful’s Fashion Week party in a sleek all-black look featuring a sheer mesh V-neck top, a black leather mini skirt and knee-high boots. The next day, Reuters spotted her among the guests at Hermès’ spring/summer show, held in a bright white space inside the Garde Républicaine, where she and Sofia Vergara fanned themselves on an unusually warm and sunny October day.
Now Rossum has given fans a fresh look at her style. New photos shared on October 4 show the 40-year-old in a fitted black short-sleeved knit dress with a high neckline, her signature voluminous curls framing her face.
The outfit is a lesson in minimalism done right. The dress hugs her silhouette from the mock neck down, while a subtle textured pattern woven through the knit adds visual interest without a single accessory in sight.
The 2 images have a relaxed, intimate feel. In one, Rossum leans against a pale wall beside soft curtains, while the other is a close-up taken in a bright room, putting her natural-looking makeup and cascading curls front and center.
Her hair, as usual, does a lot of the talking. The voluminous brown curls, with lighter highlights catching the light, give the simple dress a romantic, effortless energy. The look continues a clear pattern in Rossum’s recent wardrobe.
At the 2026 Emmy Awards, she presented Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series with Alan Cumming in a black Julie de Libran couture gown, while she chose a black sequin-embellished Saint Laurent mini dress for the PEN America Awards in March.
The knit dress also fits neatly with the mood of the week. Hermès’ latest collection, for example, featured loose-knit brown and black tops and dresses, showing that textured knits are having a real moment on the Paris runways.
For Rossum, though, the dark palette seems less about trends and more about a defined personal style. Whether it’s leather and mesh at a party or a soft knit for a portrait session, she keeps finding new ways to make black feel fresh.
Rossum’s fashion moment arrives during a high point in her career. Her Hulu crime drama ‘Furious’, created by Elizabeth Meriwether, premiered on July 27 with Rossum starring as FBI agent Alice Black, who hunts a calculating female serial killer played by Lola Petticrew.
The show quickly earned a second season, with Hulu announcing the renewal in August before the 8-episode first season wrapped on August 31. Deadline noted the series carried a 98% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, and Rossum also serves as an executive producer through her Composition 8 banner.
New trailer for ‘FURIOUS’ has been released. Starring Emmy Rossum, Lola Petticrew, Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, and Jake Lacy. Premieres July 27 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. https://t.co/lI9PVxoKZ7

She has kept busy elsewhere too, stepping out for the Broadway opening night of ‘The Fear of 13’ in April. Born in New York City on September 12, 1986, Rossum began performing professionally as a child, and decades later she’s clearly still finding new ways to reinvent herself.

With Chanel and Louis Vuitton still on the Fashion Week schedule, there may be even more appearances from Rossum before the week wraps. If her recent run is any indication, fans can expect plenty more polished, all-black looks. For now, these new photos prove that sometimes the simplest outfit makes the strongest statement. A fitted knit and a head of gorgeous curls are clearly all Rossum needs.
