‘Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence Brings High Fashion to the Museum in New Dior Campaign
Jonathan Anderson’s arrival at Dior has been one of fashion’s biggest stories, and his approach to celebrity has been just as closely watched as his clothes. When he unveiled his debut womenswear collection, a front row that included Jennifer Lawrence, Greta Lee and Taylor Russell rose in a standing ovation.
Anderson has steadily built his own circle of Dior faces since then. Lee was one of the first to join and starred in the house’s first coed campaign for his debut collections, shot by David Sims, while Russell was named a Dior ambassador in January, becoming the latest former Loewe face to follow Anderson after Lee, Josh O’Connor and Drew Starkey.
Now 3 of those stars have united for the house’s latest imagery. New images shared on October 5 show Lawrence, Lee and Russell posing together for Dior’s new Cruise campaign, wandering through an art museum filled with gilded frames and classical paintings.
The campaign plays with the museum setting in a playful way. It features the trio, along with Starkey, admiring some of the museum’s star attractions, including Claude Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’ and a Jacob van Ruisdael landscape.
In one standout image, the 3 actresses huddle together in front of a deep blue wall. Russell wears a shimmering, draped one-shoulder dress, Lee is wrapped in a long checked coat, and Lawrence sports a bold black-and-white striped coat with a white shoulder bag.

Another frame focuses on Lawrence alone against a rust-colored backdrop. She wears a textured tweed jacket and carries a soft pink handbag finished with a bow, posing in front of a gilded frame.
Each of the 3 stars has been closely tied to Anderson’s vision for Dior. Lawrence and Lee were among the guests at his Haute Couture debut in January, where Lawrence famously skipped formal attire and sat front row in wide-leg jeans and a tank top.
That casual choice actually fit Anderson’s aesthetic. Lawrence paired the look with the single-strap Cigale purse, which Anderson named after his all-time favorite dress by Christian Dior.
Russell, meanwhile, rarely makes public appearances, but often steps out to support her friend and collaborator Anderson. Dior praised her as one of contemporary cinema’s most distinctive talents when announcing her ambassadorship.
Russell’s partnership with Dior reflects how highly regarded she has become. The Canadian actress and director received the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival for her performance in Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Bones and All’.
Her inclusion alongside Lawrence and Lee gives the campaign an intriguing mix of established stars and artistic newcomers. Each brings a slightly different energy, yet the images feel unified by the museum’s moody, painterly atmosphere.
The campaign continues Anderson’s theatrical approach to the house. His Cruise runway was treated as a cinematic event, with show notes formatted like a Hollywood script. That show drew an impressive guest list, including Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter, Mikey Madison, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jisoo, Lee and Russell. The new imagery extends that storytelling sensibility into still photography.
Anderson’s first womenswear collection for Dior also leaned heavily on the house’s archives, including lace dresses that evoked the 1952 Cigale silhouette. With this campaign, he once again blends Dior’s heritage with a fresh, modern perspective.
For fans of these 3 actresses, the images offer a chance to see them together in a dreamy, artful setting. For Dior, they’re another sign that Anderson’s new era is built as much on personality as on fashion.
